What is your favorite food item just one dish including sauce or stuff crucial to it ?

couple'a dozen raw oysters with tabasco, horseradish and lemon

Fillet mignon, cracked black pepper.

I do chicken cacciatori  in the oven using chicken thighs.  I cook the chicken first, turning it over a couple times to ensure the skin gets nice and crispy then drain out the fat.  Then, skin side up I pour the pasta sauce around it, not on it, leaving the skin exposed so it doesn't loose it's crispness and bake for an additional 20 minutes or so in order for the chicken to absorb some of the sauce and become more tender.  I guess it's not really "one dish" as you will need another pan to boil water for the pasta but it's a hell of a lot easier than cooking it on the stove top spattering grease all over the place.

I don't have a favourite N but, I'm quite partial to a nice sweet/sour chicken and rice

"xxxxxxxxxxxxx" which is a type of goulash, may be a kind of sloppy joe.  A spicy soup of hamburger meat and macaroni mix with any other leftovers you want to mix in it.  Heavy on the paprika.
