Do you have ancestors who were puritans and pilgrims?

Not that I know of. My ancestors from Ireland and Scotland arrived before the American Revolution but after the Puritans and Pilgrims.

I have an ancestor who was hanged for heresy and blasphemy. He published a series of writings that advanced the cause of the Anabaptists and the Reformation.

No.  My ancestors were Huguenots (French protestants) who went to Scotland in the 18th century and became fishermen.  I also have Viking ancestry (if you go back far enough).  No puritans or pilgrims to my knowledge.
