    Although all three vareties of poodle are some times grouped together as working or utility dogs or alternatively ,simply as companion breeds,the standard poodle ,which is the forebear of the miniature and toy forms,was essentially developed as a water dog,that is as a gundog that would readlily retriever game from water ,and the traditional continental- clip was originally intended to lighten the weight of the coat for

    Swimming , whilst protecting the major organs and joints from the cold .today these days standard poodle retains a keen hunting instinct. and has even been used to forgage for truffles ,but it is most commonly found as a family pet.interestingly ,there remains some controversy over its origins, for whilst. In France has claimed it as its own ,and is certainly where the breed was miniaturized ,the standard poodles is often accepted as having been developed in germany ,albeit at least in part from a french dog,the barbet breeds.  they grown about 15-30 inch and weight about 45-77lbs and live for 12-14 years. can be white , gray, black, brown sometime can be solid colors. standard poodle, toy poodle and miniatue poodle are same familar family group they all live for 12-14 years.
