Is it common for parents to stop their son’s circumcision med-procedure?

My mom had to hold me down with a nurse while the doctor was operating on mr because they didn’t have any circumcision bords at that moment. I started crying very loudly when he injected the anesthesia and my mom obviously felt really bad. Then she realized that she is lietrally holding her son down while a man is cutting her son’s genitals with scissors. It was too much and she stopped it.
