My husband will not get life insurance on him in case he does. He said he doesn't care what happens to me or to his kids after he is dead as we will have to learn to take care of ourselves. Even though I took care of him and support him when he needed me the most how he repays me is to cheat on me and lie an not leave any money for me to take care of his kids. What would you do if you had a deadbeat husband?

To tell the truth ... none of them are...but you should try to get a very low whole life and let it draw interest on it, They are all about the same so I use my car insurance company for all our needs.

Even if you have AARP you're not really saving any money.  Been there and done that..

Why? Life insurance is very expensive for seniors unless it was bought decades ago when they were young. Most seniors now just

    need burial insurance.

Life insurance is not for seniors, rather it is for young people to protect their families in case of catastrophe.

Life insurance is a product intended for young people with a family depending upon them.  It's not for seniors.  Smart seniors generally sell any life insurance policies they own, after their kids are grown.

Seniors can by term life insurance to cover funeral costs, etc - but the older you are the more expensive it is, or the lower the benefits are - and there are exclusions, as Anon3 said.  Pre-existing medical conditions are usually disqualifiers.  You would need to read up on the details very carefully.

You might be ahead of the game to think long and hard about what you want the money for, and how much money that would need to be...and then talk to an Elder Law/Estates expert about methods other than insurance to achieve what you want.

    Burial.

If the person has no close relatives, Never buy Life Insurance.

Read the Fine Print, many insurance policies don't pay off until the subject has paid premiums for a minimum of time, usually Three Years.
