How can I improve my drawings when I have problems with visualize things?

When I look at things and close my eye it is all fuzzy. I can only remember about 4 lines. So I can look at simple stuff like square, triangle, circle, heart or rectangle and look at it and close my eye and draw it. But things like star, nonagon, octagon, and pentagon so on I have trouble remembering.

Any thing more than 4 lines my brain has trouble remembering.

If you can draw a square you can draw a cube.

Draw two squares overlapping, join up the corners – bingo.

If you draw a square, then turn the paper 45 degrees and draw another square directly over the previous one, you have the makings of an octagon. Same with a triangle and a star.

But you are coming at this from the wrong direction, looking at something and drawing it is a better approach. If you use geometric shapes to help you understand the subject that is fine.

You are attacking the problem the wrong way!

Improving your drawings will help you with visualizing things.

Draw what you can remember for sure. The go back and try to pick up where you left off. So now you remember three lines, maybe next time you will remember four. As you practice the number will go up.
