You are standing on top of a building, looking at a park in the distance. The angle of depression is 53°. If the building you are standing on is 100 feet tall, what is the horizontal distance from the building to the park? Round to the nearest foot.

    So you have a right triangle, of which the height is 100 ft, and the angle is  53°, and you want to know the length of the base.

    The Law of Sines says that the ratio between the base and height is the tangent of the angle.  The tangent of 53° is 1.327.  Meaning the base is 1.327 * the height.  Since the height is 100, it's easy to calculate.  It's 132.7 ft, which we round up to 133 ft.
