What should I name my cat? ?

So I’m getting a kitten soon in about a week or so and idk what I should name it. 

I have yet to determine which one exactly so I’m not sure about the gender I have only seen them by pictures. (A friend is giving me one) but either way if I can get any suggestions for names that would be helpful 

I’m open to both genders and gender neutral names as well.

    Just pick the first one that pops into your head. But, Sam, Max, Mittens, Whiskers are all good generic names.

    I say wait until you meet the cat and can see some personality traits.  Then name the cat based on it's personality.

    I love the name Sam or Teddy, if it is a boy.  If it's a girl, Tammy or Theresa.

    Name them "kitty"
