How do you love someone and not like them?

It is certainly easy to love someone whilst, at the same time, not liking them.  My father was a violent bully but he was still our father.  He hurt two of us badly and hurt mum also but never touched our younger brother.  I discovered after his death that, on the day baby brother came home from hospital our mum said to dad "You treat this one the same way you treated the other two and you'll never see us again"

He never laid a finger on our younger brother which showed that he could control his anger.  We two older ones and mum only had real peace and calm in our lives when he was gone (we were all adults by then).  Regardless of all that he was still our dad and (in a warped sort of way) we loved his as much as we loved our very placid and kind mother). 

That kind of love is difficult to explain.

Not everyone has the same flaws. I wouldn't date someone I didn't like lol because that's kinda silly
