There have been times where I cannot convince youtube to give me results for videos that I know are there (and haven't been removed).
People are constantly uploading to it, so if there is something specific you are looking for, you might check back and get lucky.
If it's something copyrighted it might get taken down, but it also might get put back up again (and again).
If it's totally unavailable on youtube, you can try googling it and see if another site has it.

YouTube isn't the ultimate answer. Sometimes you have to read some online articles to figure out what you want. Keep searching
