What's a good price for a Laptop computer?

Consumer grade around $500. Business grade about $1100. Most of the difference between the two is the quality of the chassis (more metal parts), hinges etc. and more durable components on the motherboard of a business class laptop.

Please disregard the utterly absurd and untrue responses that others have sent you. If you shop online for a decent price and stop sales tax, the United States is almost always the cheapest country to purchase branded electronics. In most other countries, sales tax is a significant factor, and similar laptops are often equipped with lower configurations or are older models. China is a different story; their prices are much lower. China is a different story; while Chinese products are cheaper, the vast majority are poorly produced and fail quickly. I will never buy a Chinese laptop in my life. Yes, a smartphone from a well-known Chinese manufacturer. In my life, I've purchased about 4–5 china tablets, and none of them have lasted longer than a few months. And the ones who were supposed to succeed failed in a variety of ways. Even the ones with very appealing specs, such as a nice screen that would have cost far more from a brand name in the US, struggled in different ways.

prices vary with multiple factors.  if you know nothing, you'll almost certainly get taken.  find a local store with a local who runs it.  he's maybe more honest than buying a used computer from someone who might disappear immediately after taking your money.  [after all, the local guy wants to still be in business next month, right?]

with what CPU? honestly we need ALL the specs to even get within 10% of the actual value.

You should qualify your question more. Is it a new computer that a company is loading software on it for you? Is it a used computer that you're buying from a friend or acquaintance? What brand is it? What model is it? What year is it? What components does it have in it? Does it have any third-party hardware in it? Are you going to be gaming with it?
