Is it common to have a very complicated sense of humor?

I noticed most things just don't make me laugh including 99% of comedians besides  some of Jim Carrey's jokes. I also noticed that i usually laugh at the suffering of other people in real life but i am not psychotic or sadistic. I usually don't laugh at scary movie scenes where a particular monster like a vampire or zombie eats its victims alive

    you just don't like trite and overdone things. i can appreciate that. i don't like most comedians. they just do dumb stuff to amuse idiots and the types of people who watched America's Home Videos.

    i prefer comedians that are philosophers, and not afraid of saying something that might offend people. like George Carlin, Doug Stanhope, and Louis C.K.

    It depends.

    I don't laugh at many jokes either.

    I think if your serious it slips you by.

    If Jim Carrey is your idea of humor, you don't have a complicated sense- you have a juvenile sense. My guess is that you prefer Conan over Colbert or Corden, too.
