how can i learn to play electric guitar?

i want to know how to play electric guitar but i dont know where to start, i tried youtube videos but i dont know if they are taking me anywhere without me knowing how to start, themes i need to learn first or in a specific order.

please, can you tell me a specific order wich i have to learn?, example: first you have to learn chors, after that scales,after that etc, etc.

Or you can give  a youtube playlist of a youtuber teaching, but only if you trully know that it IS A GOOD playlist and it have the right order to learn thing.

i would really aprecciate your point of view specially if you are autodidact.

    Practicing does not help if you practice wrong.  Try to find a qualified teacher.  I started with just learning chords and I played mostly "by ear."  Later I learned scales.  

    Staying in time is very important.

    Search Mahalo guitar-lessons. It's the best instruction site I've seen.

    Lessons can help but they aren't required, it's mostly about practicing.  A lot.
