Why are some people Christian in name only? They may identify as Christian but they don't follow the bibles teachings?

Because they're weak or just hypocrites.

There are a lot of social benefits to Christianity.  (There's a lot to be said for a good potluck.)

For many, that's the only aspect they really care about.

IDK.  An atheist friend of mine was hurt because I didn't ask her to be godmother to my child.  I told her, you have to be a Christian.  And she said "I'm a Christian."  She's a Christian atheist?  Whatever.

Many talk the talk, but cannot walk the walk.

Luke 13:24 KJV — Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

John 3:3 KJV —  Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

The jehovah's witnesses can't help themselves.
