    Mansplain much? Because literally everyone knows the Isle of Ireland consists of two countries: the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, the latter of the two, Northern Ireland, being one of the four countries that comprise the United Kingdom of Great Britain itself.

    Yes and amazingly the one that is further north is called "Northern Ireland"

    Only since 1920.  It's been that way for a while.  It's not exactly current events.
