    q = 50 g (1.0 cal/gC)(2) = 100 cal

    Supposing there is no phase change over the 2°C change.  (The answer would be quite different if the 2°C change was from 99°C to 101°C.)

    (1.0 cal/g·°C) x (50 g) x (2°C) = 100 cal
