He let an I love you slip. Its only been a month, I almost said it myself a few days ago but didn't because it is soon. I asked him if he meant it and he said "I don't know, its early." Any insight to what the slip means?
Update: we have known one another for 6 years and used to be roommates

Given that you have only been dating a month, I would interpret him saying "I love you" as his way of expressing that he is deeply attracted to you. Granted that everyone moves in and out of relationships at different rates but generally speaking, it takes a bit longer than a month to truly love someone. The reason for this is that love is based on an emotional connection and it takes time to develop this.
