Schizophrenia?
My friend started talking to somebody out no nowhere, nobody was there or around. He started walking and talking. When I asked what he’s doing he told me he was going to help an old man.
Lately he just starts talking to somebody and will even follow them. There is nobody there. Is this A sign of schizophrenia? His parents don’t believe in mental illness and wont take him to a psychiatrist. He seems very convinces the person is real. What are signs to watch for / how do people with schizophrenia usually act? How can I help him?

delusional schizophrenia with audio and visual hallucinations is very pronounced and real to the person going through it and can sometimes be caused by brain injury including mild strokes some drugs as well so sounds like your friend needs to have a M.R.I or C.A.T scan which any regular doctor can order.
