Am I too nice at my work? Why do people blame for their mistakes?

At work I’m kinda young compared to other worker so I respect and try to help them. But sometime I feel like they use me or blame me for their mistakes. I quite shy and introverted and only speak if it’s important I mind my own business but some of the worker like gossiping about me like I don’t like them. I quite friendly and nice but I don’t really approach people and only speak when they approach me. How do I stand up for my self without looking bad?

I don't think you need to be rude or aggressive when it comes to standing up for yourself. Basically you just need to make your presence felt. You can do this through simple things such as asking open-ended questions which will engage your co-workers in conversation. Another good tip is to make eye contact when talking to someone. Finally, be sure to have a smile on your face and try to be as bubbly and warm as possible That sort of approach will really bring others closer to you as it will make them feel comfortable in being around you. Conversely, if you are all anxious then that energy is going to transfer across and make everyone feel apprehensive. I really hope this helps :)
