Life is always changing anyway so it's hard to know how much of the change will be related to the pandemic and how much would have happened anyway for other reasons. The "Black Death" killed so many tenant farmers and peasants that after it they were able to demand better working conditions. But in the post Magna Carta eras things like that were already happening. The 1918 pandemic was interrupted by the "Roaring 20's" and life before it was different from life after it but not necessarily because of it. COVID-19 probably contributed to the "eff it all" attitude left and right wing extremists seem to feel right now. But even that has to burn itself out just because people can't stay that enraged for years and years. Futurists can try to predict what this global questioning of authority and consolidation of power by corporations might result in, but those would all be mere guesses. Life going forward will be different, hard to say how much of that difference will be directly related to the pandemic. But good luck out there, this planet is about to undergo some pretty perilous times.

YES, things will be different from now on. You don't lose 3+ million ppl and not expect life to be altered. The old way of life is gone for good and many common practices will never go back to pre-covid days.

No. The 1918-1920 pandemic, which killed at a higher rate than the present one is, did not prevent a roaring rate of social and economic progress after it ended.
