Which of the following values is the observed velocity of the baseball in both frames of reference?

A person stationary in their frame of reference watching a moving cart. On the moving cart is a second person who remains stationary on the cart in their frame of reference. The cart is moving with velocity = v. The person on the cart throws a baseball with velocity=0.5v in the frame of reference of the cart. Which of the following values is the observed velocity of the baseball in both frames of reference?

    As you are told that the ball is thrown at  0.5 v FROM THE CART then the velocity relative to the cart is 0.5 v and ONLY A is consistent with this.
