Why didn't they just put a set of cuffs around Floyd's ankles and back off?

He couldn't have done anything with his ankles and wrists cuffed while flat on the ground. Unless they were trying to kill him.

No u.bin... roll him over.. sit him up.. observe his breathing  treat him like a human, not a pig.

I think you missed the part of the question about backing off.  He could still roll over, and breathe.

I'm curious @Anon... what are you going to do with a knife with your hands and ankles cuffed.   Maybe stab himself I guess. As if they would let him pull a knife from somewhere.

Updated 5 days ago:

If you look at the way his arms were contortioned, he wouldn't be able to stab anyone, including himself, even if he was able to pull a knife, which there was no way he could.   You're just reaching for excuses for officers to murder.

    Good question.

I have worked in psychiatric hospitals for decades and we often have to restrain people far bigger than Floyd was.  We NEVER HURT THEM.  Our job was to restrain them so that they could be managed and not hurt themselves or others.

We were well trained in safe and therapeutic techniques.  Because if someone was hurt while being restrained, they could complain to the state and we could lose our license.

Tell me how we can do it and the police cannot?

And believe me, every general hospital and every psychiatric hospital in all 50 states have to restrain patients.  ALL OF THEM.

And we don't harm or kill them.

this was a very dangerous and violent hoodlum who had invaded a pregnant woman's home and pushed a gun into her belly and threatened to shoot both if she didn't tell him where her money was kept, it took 5 cops to subdue him and they were not able to tell if he had a hidden knife or blade , anyone who has experienced handling violen

t drug crazed thugs would sympathize with the cop involved , the way the other cops are lying on the stand about restraining violent people is disgusting, had floyd sat in the back of the car he would have been processed and back home for dinner

you mean like the suspect in Baltimore that died in police custody after having his ankles cuffed and being "forced" to lay on his stomach...

the media said he had been "hogtied" and laying on his stomach aggravated a serious pre-existing medical condition... which was presented as being "cruel"....

Oh the smiling directly at the camera and remaining there three minutes after Floyd was dead wasn't enough proof they were trying to kill him?

"this was a very dangerous and violent hoodlum who had invaded a pregnant woman's home and pushed a gun into her belly and threatened to shoot both if she didn't tell him where her money was kept"

For **** sake that was in 2007!  No history of crime since.
