Car stuff ?

So I got this Cadillac CTS it has the code p0700 with a p2544. Code I took it to two different mechanics one told me that they don’t do transmissions so I had to take it somewhere else to a transmission shop in the shop told me that they don’t have the right software so I have to take it to a dealership now I don’t know much about vehicles so I don’t know if the problem with my car is just tedious and they don’t wanna deal with it or if this is something normal?? Also has anyone ever had these codes does anyone know what they might possibly mean I mean I tried to get what I thought the car might need by googling the symptoms in the codes I don’t know I’m kind of at a loss it could be the throttlebody because I got reduced engine power light on but I was also told maybe there’s nothing wrong with the engine I’m just getting that code because the car is trying to protect itself because of whatever transmission problem I’m having

    I FELL awful for you! ! The CADDY is only meant to get to about 100,000 miles and NOT much FURTHER! This is MAYBE an ELECTRICAL PROBELM so START with the BASICS! Use ONLY a GENUINE AC DELCO battery, or an INTERSTATE or a DEKA battery and NOT an AUTO ZONE battery that is PURELY JUNK!  POWER WASH the ENGINE using GUNK ORIGINAL ORANGE engine cleaner! This will insure that WIRING is CLEAN and doing it;s joB!  YOUR issue is about the TRANS and REALIZE that you MUST use ONLY SYNTHETIC OIL! At LEAST MOBIL ONE but I recommend using PENNZOIL ULTRA PLATINUM or ULTRA EURO that is GOOD to 35 bELOW ZERO and is made from NATURAL GAS and gives a WARRANTY out to 500,000 miles! Get a MILD engine DE SLUDGING done before CHANGING the OIL!I also recommend GM X 66 if you can FIND it! Or use my MIXTRUE of HF amsoil power foam and HALF gunk orange original ENGINE CLEANER that is MOSTLY diesel fuel! You can DRIVE on this for an HOUR or so or really EVEN LONGER! It is GENTLE but THOROUGH! YOU CANNOT use VALVOLINE! It will CLOG up the OIL passageways! IT SHOULD not even be on the MARKET!  SORRY to WRITE this but the CADDY engine is NOT made to last more than about 100,000 miles! The use of PENNZOIL ULTRA PLATINUM may get you FURTHER remove the AIR INTAKE SNKORKEL! SO MANY have ISSUES with CADDY trannies as they AGE as well! Using a PROPER BATTERY will help to keep the COMPUTERS working RIGHT! I have seen CADDIES where they re

    replace the TRANNIES a FEW TIMES and CANNOT get  it RIGHT! CHECEK the CONNECTION to the COMPUTER! USING PENNZOIL ULTRA oil wll earn you an ENGINE WARRANTY out to 500,000 miles! But you will be LUCKY if they HONOR IT! the CADDY engines have a VERY VERY BAD reputation and are in REALITY half engineered! They are WORN OUT by about 100,000 miles as the ALUMINUM in the motor is NOT an ALLOY but SOFT aluminum! And with CAST IRON insert's! it is NOT meant to LAST very long! ALSO the THROTTLE BODY must be SHOWROOM CLEAN as it gives SIGNALS for SHIFTING! USE AMSOI LPOWER FAOM here and run it THROUGHT the ENGINE PCV valve! REPLACE the HORRIBLE AC delco plugs with DENSO TWIN TIP IRIDIUM LASER plugs! They will ern you up top 25 % MROE POWER and ECONOMY and PROTECT the o2 and the CONVERTER as well AND ALSO many ENGIEN SENSORS from WEAR!  AC plugs are NOT even on the PLUG TESTS any more! They are ANTIQUES and MISFIRE easier! The IRIDIUM DENSO plugs are one of the BEST inventions for cars EVER! They REACT at the molecular level to burn MORE FUEL COMPLETELY and EVERY DROPLET of fuel will be BURNED! The USE of PENNZOIL ULTRA will clean things up like a MOP! The TIMING CHAIN will get CLEANED UP and the FRONT cover and the OIL PAN and the VALVE COVERS! BTW REMOVE the VALVE COVERS and get them STEAM CLEANED to SHOWROOM! It is SUPERB! ANYWAYS you are BEST OFF going to a CADDY dealership that has a CADDY experienced TECHNICAIN that has YEARS of expertise with it! WHERE i am there is a RELIABLE TRANS SHOP! It MAY be ONLY that BAD speed sensor or MAYBE even the WIRING HARNESS to the COMPUTER has been EATEN by a RAT ! They are NOW using SOY as a WIRING cover! ANIMALS LOVE the TASTE! In THAT case an ELECTRICAL SHIP will work out just FINE! ONCE AGAIN i I feel SORRY for you! AT 100,000 miles the CADDY powertrain is about DONE! AT 100,000 miles a BMW, AUDI or BENZ is JUST Barely BROKEN IN!  It is a DIFFERENCE of PHILOSOPHY< i  I GUESS, but TRUTHFUL! You can BUY a SCANNER or use the BOSCH unit from an O REILLY store! It is BEST to read your MANUAL about the LIMP IN MODE! and REDUCED POWER mode!  I have WORKED on a few CADDIES and I see their FLAWS and why they do NOT last as long as other car types!  BUT FIRST the ENGINE must be in TOP RUNNING condition! remove the BAKED IN SLUDGE < TAR and WAX and VARNISH first! Use the DENSO TT iridium plugs! POWER WASH the ENGINE CLEAN as possible! REMOVE the COVERS and have them STEAMED so it can BREATHE! Run AMSOIL POWER FOAM through the PCV system to clean the RINGS that are ALSO full of baked in TAR  and even COKE! THEN go with a CLEAN ENGEIN BAY to a FM dealership or REAL trans shop! SADLY GM ONLY wants you to get to about that 100,000 mie mark! T I READ a CADDY owners manual once and was SHCOKED that is said, "at 100,000 miles, replace the ENGINE!?" i COUDL NOT VBELIEVE IT! The TIMING chains in these engines LIKE to BREAK as well! It is like they PLANNED for it to FAIL! ONCE the GOV found this out they FORCED GM to extend a the ENGINE WARRANTY out to 120,000 miles! Its a RIP OFF! NEXT time get a LINCOLN or an AUDI or a BMW or BENZ! They LAST FOREVER with a little CARE! They do NOT suffer from ENGINE METAL FATIGUE! They use OIL SPRAY JETS to reduce FRICTION to nearly ZERO! So you MUST use ONLY GENUINE FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL in them, TOO!  I have ISSUES with how GM does things! We got BURNED with the GASKET LAWSUIT where ALL GM engines made from 1996-2003 are DEFECTIVE and will CAUSE INTAKE GASKET failures! PROVEN in a COURT of LAW! AND TODAY they have LAWSUITS over AIR BAGS and ignition switches that CATCH on FIRE! OLDER GM engines had SOFT CAMSHAFTS and GM wanted you to PAY for NEW ONES! This was for 76-83 CHEVY V8 engines! RALPH NADER fixed THEM GOOD back then! AND I learned about the CADDY timing chain issue from a CLIENT who dumped his CTS engine at 93.000 miles and GM only paid for a USED engine instead of a NEW ONE! That is BAD KARMA! The TIMING CHAIN broke! JEEZ! IT nearly SEEMS like GM wants things to BREKA at 100,000 miles! ANYWAYS PENNZOIL ULTRA will STILL get you a 500,000 mile ENGINE WARRANTY! PLEASE read your MANUAL about drops in POWER! I love GREAT ENGINES that are MADE with the RIGHT metallurgy and run at HIGH engine speeds for nearly INFINITI! AND REMEMBER that the ORIGINAL SPARK PLUGS are just plain POWER WASTING JUNKS! SO SRRY if I RUINED your DAY!  with BAD NEWS! You may STILL get more miles once the TRANS issue is SOLVED! BUT the BEST thing is going to the DEALERSHIP where they SEE these TRANNIES every SINGLE DAY! CHECK your BATTERY for NAME! ONLY! use GENUINE AC DELCO part here! They do BATTERIES very well!>>>CHANGE the FUEL FILTER it is PROBALBY the ORIGINAL ONE!  DRAIN and FIL the TRANS FLUID using PENNZOIL TRANS FLUOD and NOT VALVOLINE fluid!  Since there is a TORQUE CONVERTER that holds MANY QUARTS of fluid and you CANNOT drain it, Change the fluid SEVERAL TIMES! My BENZ cars had DRAIN PLUGS on the TORQUE CONVERTERS! it is ANOTHER reason to BUY FOREIGN! They do NOT cut corners! AND if you need a NEW FUEL PUMP< you do NOT have to DROP the ENTIRE GAS TANK! there is an ACCESS PANEL!  I am SICK and TIRED just now! BAD news EVERYWHERE! COVID is SPREADING in MICHGIAN at an ALARMING RATE! The GOVERNOR is subject to the WOES of the CENTRAL GOVERNMENT and I fear for my LIFE! I had TWO vaccinations but many around me are NOT getting the shots! VERY dangerous I think! VERY SCARY as well!

    Put away your parts shotgun and take it to the dealer.

    It is most likely just a electrical problem.

    Modules rarely fail as do transmissions.

    It's usually a electrical connection that has corroded or dirty DC because of a weak battery or charging system problem.

    Either way only DEALERS have the training, tools, and experience level needed to avoid the guessing.

    Merely throwing parts at something only induces MORE problems till NOBODY can fix it.

    You're in LIMP mode. 

    It sounds like you've had a control module failure.  That would be an electronic problem.

    You're lucky the tranny shop didn't talk you into replacing the transmission. They usually do that. Take it to the dealer and get it diagnosed.

    The car is likely in limp home mode because the computer  does not "like" signals or is not receiving signals from the TCM or the transmission is not responding to throttle inputs due to failing solenoids or a transmission electrical problem.

    P0700 is a general transmission code that will be seen in a scanner that cannot read transmission trouble codes in cars with a transmission control module.  You will need to see a mechanic (or a dealer) with an advanced  scanner that can read transmission trouble codes.  With a P2544 code, suspect a bad TCM.  Good luck
