I was close to taking my life several months ago...?

my doctor saved my life, he doesn't know it but i was at my wits end when i saw him and he gave me hope that things would get better with treatment. He did the treatments actually. I don't want to burden him with telling him that I was suicidal and had a plan if my condition couldn't get better. What's another way i can thank him or is there i way i can show my appreciation without telling him that i was thinking about taking my life... i really do credit him because no other doctor was as empathetic as he was and he really pushed for my treatment

My main concern is keeping you from getting that way again! There's a lot of things that can help, mostly low-cost, low-risk, and easy. Depression is often the result of stress. Good things here - rated Best, 5 Stars.

The best way to thank him would be just to thank him. You can tell him that you were desperately unhappy without mentioning suicide.

Yes, don't tell him about being suicidal, because even though you don't feel like that anymore, they take it seriously.  You would have been 5150ed and that stays with you for life.  Just say thank you and spare the details.
