Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

do you think Yahoo will change its mind about closing Y!A if enough people start using the site again?

They said the main reason for closing it down was low usage.  If we start using it again like we did back in 2011 or so, we can save the site!

It's not the people who use it not using it enough, it's the people who stopped using it completely.

The key words here are 'they said'.  What they say and what the actual reasons are may differ.  Money is probably the real reason.  Advertisers were not placing ads like they used to and that led to decreasing income for Yahoo, so they decided to eliminate Answers.

I wish. I think the bigger issue is political, as free speech is now seen as a liability rather than a high level ideal.

They should delete all answers and give everyone free cloud storage instead.
