Is Grubbie correct that without welfare/Centrelink , there would be riots and looting and a general breakdown of society?

Dont forget why convicts were sent to Australia in the first place. An economy that ignores the poorest third of its people is doomed to fail and the rich would fall a lot further and harder than the poor, if you want a lawless hellhole where money has no value and a return to the 18th century British system then by all means abolish welfare.
