is a soft drop on the floor wreck a laptop?

I was using a chair and my laptop fell on the hard floor not a rug, my dog jumped all over the place and it landed on the floor, it was a good thing that my screen was not damaged. So I checked everything to make sure it is working good and so far I don't see any dents or damage, my lid closes fine, the buttons work, and everything else is running normally, I also restarted my laptop and it starts fine. The only way that I worried about is my files, and the speed of the pc, would it go slower? Also I am worried that if the screen might give up or other areas. Is there a way to see if I can check if everything is running well ? I may have more detail on this. I have a HP laptop, but I can't explain the rest on it. All I can explain is that I am worried something might give up soon.
