Can fibreglass cause mesothelioma just like asbestos?

it might not be impossible for fiberglass to cause mesothelioma, but its extremely unlikely.  Even most forms of asbestos don't cause mesothelioma.  Asbestos fibers that cause mesothelioma have microscopic barbs sticking out from a larger, primary shaft..  Only a few types of asbestos have these barbs.  The barbs are so tiny they can pierce a single cell without killing it.  Damage caused to a cell by getting pierced by a barb seems to be what causes mesothelioma. Fiberglass does not produce tiny barbs.

The type of damage done to lungs by fiberglass tends to be from scarring, which can result in a type of pneumonia,or  fibrosis.
