Toshiba Satellite C55t-C5300 display problems?
One day I was using my laptop and was raising the display/lid to see better and the display went off! I pushed it back down a bit and it came back on but would go off at a touch.. It just got to a point where it wouldnt come on. I replaced the cable that connects the display to the motherboard with a new one and put a new display in it.. They didnt work either! But I connected an external monitor to the laptop with a HDMI cable and it works.. Im just not sure what happened as it wasnt dropped or whatever! Anyone have any idea?

I was thinking that there might be a short in the connector/port on the motherboard?

there is a loose connection or intermittent open somewhere between the mobo's graphics connector and the builtin display. that the HDMI works tells you the gpu itself is fine. fine DIY exploration project.
