    Water.

The location of the loaves and fish event was most likely near the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee.  Around that lake are numerous hills with wet-weather creeks between them (Jn 6:1-4).  Presumably, water could have been obtained from one of those or even the Sea of Galilee.  Travelers would have brought a skin-bottle with them and kept it filled as they passed water sources.  Keeping a constant food source wasn't as easy, thus the miracle on Jesus' part.

    Presumably

one or more public wells was available.

(Very common feature of ancient towns and cities, practically necessary in many locales.)

If that info had been important, they would have included it.

There may have been a lake or pond nearby.

Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes in anticipation of His confecting the Eucharist on the day before His Death on the Cross.
