If pagan/polytheism gods existed and got into a war, could certain deities take over nature, thus causing the world to become unbalanced?
For example, Venus takes over and the birth rate skyrockets and the world becomes an orgy, or Vulcan takes over and there are volcanic eruptions and everyone suddenly starts obsessively making swords?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 years agoAtheists: Is choosing to believe something possible? And, what do you think of Fideism?
Fideism (/ˈfiːdeɪɪzəm, ˈfaɪdi-/) is an epistemological theory which maintains that faith is independent of reason, or that reason and faith are hostile to each other and faith is superior at arriving at particular truths
And what limits are there on it?
For example, I could say that I believe something "beyond" the evidence for things that can't be disproven, but could one for example, besides choosing faith over doubt really think that:
"Christianity makes more sense and all the evidence points to it, but I want to be Hindu, so I will be Hindu" or could someone walk outside while it's raining, not want it to rain, and believe it is not raining?

Aside from that following a religion simply to escape hell would probably annoy the deity, aren't Christianity and Islam the only religions that believe in *ETERNAL* damnation, whereas other religions' punishments have some sort of time limit even if it's thousands of years of torment, and therefore you should pick one of these two?
