  • Does a Sprint phone give you an All Circuits Busy when you've been Call Blocked??

or is my dad just being paranoid? I told him I'm pretty sure that just means the circuits are busy, and if he's been blocked he'll get a message saying that caller is unavailable or something like that.

  • What is my 2 yr old DOING??

He keeps picking up random objects and holding them between his legs, then making this face like he's trying to poop. He bares his teeth and turns red in the face and makes these choking noises... and he's obviously trying not to laugh. Then he falls forward onto the floor and pretends to be asleep or something for several seconds before hopping up giggling and then doing it again.

    I can't stop laughing.

My husband swears he wasn't watching crotch shots on Funniest Home Videos today while I was at work.

I'm waiting for the smell, in case that IS what he was doing. :P

  • What's the book title & author of this classic sci fi story?

It was about a science experiment which involved trading energy sources between alternate universes. It was written from three different points of view, and the one I remember best is the aliens'. They were on a planet with a dying sun. There were three types of aliens, three genders I think. One type were the logical, coldy rational scientists, another type were flighty, fun-loving childlike beings, and the last type were... homemakers I think? All three would coalesce into one being as part of their life cycle and the story had a real shocker of an ending.

I thought it was an Asimov story, but I can't find it with my websearches. Help please!

  • What are you giving your kids for coughs and colds since the recall?

My 2 year old just came down with a cold and he is so miserable with the goop running from his nose and all I have in the pantry is Tylenol Cough & Cold... I'm giving him something for the fever but I don't want to leave all that mucous there lest it get infected.

I'm about to call the doctor and/or pharmacist, and I'll let you know what I learn, but I was wondering what you've done?

  • Should we have a dedicated socket installed?

Currently our household water softener outdoor unit is plugged into the A/C's outdoor unit, drawing electricity from it rather than from its own socket.

I didn't know this and just found out from the workers who are here installing a new A/C system. I called my husband about it and he knew... he says he was told about it by the water softener company and that previous A/C repairmen have also advised him that the softener doesn't draw much power and that it won't affect anything.

But it just sounds iffy to me to have such a large appliance piggybacked onto another one like that.

Please let me know if you're an electrician or work with major appliances! Thanks in advance. :)

  • OK to drink lactose free milk just for taste?

I bought it for my son for a while and it just tastes better to me. He's outgrown the intolerance (thank God) so now I'm wondering -- is lactose free milk as healthy as regular milk? For him and for the adults. What are the pros and cons?

  • How to buy only humanely slaughtered meats?

I am not interested in becoming vegetarian but don't want to support businesses that allow cruelty during slaughter. Any ideas on what guidelines I can use when buying?

  • How do you warm water for daily water changes in an ich tank?

I'm using the heat treatment on ich in my tank (as per http://www.aquahobby.com/articles/e_ich2.php.) The temperature will be near 90F for a few days, then at 86F for more than a week after that. I'll be doing daily 25% water changes and I'm really worried about adding so much water that's 10-15 degrees cooler than the tankwater, especially now, when the fish need to be stressed as little as possible.

If you've done this treatment in the past and can share your experience, I'd really appreciate it!
