  • Underclock/-volt to counter board instability?

My board (Asrock FM2A78M-HD+ CPU) seems to have been built with 65w line of FM2 processors in mind-- all APUs on board's support list are 65w, and tech support says 100w apu caused instability. I'm looking to get a 100w A10-5800 -- it's the best graphics and CPU within my price range. Would it be possible for me to underclock and undervolt the 3.8GHz to achieve lower wattage, and maybe counter instability caused? Would that, if even possible/feasible, handicap the IGP?

What.. again assuming any of this makes sense.. would be the lowest wattage I could expect to tune the APU down to?

I guess equally important- what would *cause* a power increase to cause instability? Is it as simple as that, or does the increase just reflect a different manner of operation, less compatible with boards made to handle the less power-intensive series??

  • Simple Beef and Rice recipe?

I have a pound of ground beef, and am tired of pasta, and tacos. I was thinking of mixing the beef with the rice-- I think it's called dirty rice? However... I'm not a chef, nor do I aspire to be. Just knowing a good proportion of beef to rice is good enough for me! :) I'll make a can of peas on the side-- or maybe mix them in, if not a can of black beans.

Now, where food goes with me - the meet is the side dish. I buy the Hamburger Helper boxes, and always end up adding an extra 3/4 pound of pasta.. since it only comes with like 1/3 a pound pasta to go with 1lb of beef. So.. I'm thinking for my simple take on dirty rice... 3 cups of rice?

I'd appreciate any tips and advice, ingredient suggestions, etc. Thanks!

  • For stealth, Farcry 3, Arkham, or Splinter Cell Black?

Never played any of them, except for Splinter Cell Chaos years ago:

Far Cry, Arkham City or Splinter Cell Blacklist

Everyone, searching Google, seems to recommend Farcry 3 in general because it's a very immersive and open world game, and has elements of stealth- but I love the meticulous sort of ninja style Splinter Cell gives. It's the first game of it's ilk that really hooked me since I played Metal Gear Solid years ago on my PS2. And 3rd Arkham seems cool because it's stealthy and... well Batman!

Can anyone give me advice about which of the three to get- maybe some of the plusses and minuses of each too? Thanks !

  • Anyone know of a free, good anagram game for pocket pc?

I have an axim x50, I found one game but my trial is running out in a couple days. Plus, it only has seven letter anagrams.

Also, do you know of any good and simple math games? I found one decent one, ArithmeTick, but the features are limited. For instance you can't turn off or increase the time limit between calculations.

    Thanks!

  • Something stuck in my eye?

I have something in my eye I'm pretty sure. It could be an eyelash. I've tried fanning my eye to stimulate the tears, I tried holding a cup with water to my eye to wash it out. I tried rubbing the eye.

Its been an hour or so, and whenever I blink I feel a slight irritation. The eye is red; usually, whether car rust or whatever, the eyes clears itself within a few minutes to half an hour.

Is there anything I can do, will whatever's in my eye eventually work it's way out? And if not ... what should I do, what are some signs of danger to look out for?

    Thanks!

  • Does listening to the car radio too often kill the battery?

I usually turn the ignition to listen to the radio while I smoke, a few time a day. Does this wear down the radio or alternator over time?

  • Anyone have online resources for different breathing techniques?

... in a meditation, mindfulness context -- though not neceserilly meditation techniques.

Like I remember one--I forget the medical name--I found in a meditation-type article that said something like to inhale as deeply as you could, allowing the lungs to take in as much air as naturally possible, through the nose I think, then to exhale as much air as you could, through your mouth.

Stuff like that. Maybe if I could incorporate some of the techniques utilized in relaxation and transcendental types of lifestyles into my moment-to-moment motion ... I could slowly get back into mediation.

  • Does anyone have input on Plymouth Breezes?

  • What is good mileage for a used car?

I'm going to buy a car, within the $1k - 2k range. My first car I paid 500 for and it had about 65k. I know that's unusual. Still, lots of the cars I see are in the 110+ range.

So I'm wondering, what is, especially for the money, a good range of mileage to consider?

I know some cars run longer than others, but overall, do I want to buy a car with 115- 145K miles? (I'd prefer to shoot for about 80 - 98 ...)

  • what natural herbs or plants have helped you with anxiety?

I don't mean weed or anything illegal.

I research kava a little, but they say it makes you tired and/or drunk.

    Chammomile tea is too mild.

    What has worked for you?

  • How is this short poem?

Sitting idly on a swivel chair

breathing to a backdrop of bubbling rice, spanish

    spices bewitching the night

    like city blocks beating life;

    sitting before all time

not quite dead, drawing from the magnetic spring

    and electric winter's midnight bout.

    Contemplating

    a cigarette,

cancer stick, counting on a motionless

    outdoors, manicured lawns

    dulling the stars

    and driving the crickets insane.

Sitting on a swively and boring chair in a haze,

    stifling the bladder to write--

excitement before a numbing shot of

    putrid discount wine.

    Where's the time all gone,

    heart bubbling and evaporating

and limbs sore and head pounding

    and the air without vitality--

    agh,

i'll tell you where the time has gone:

    under dead stars,

and dissolved like blue moon smoke

    meandering into the unknown.

And falling back on poisonous fags,

    spittooning sludge infused by drags,

    thinking backwards,

    eyes bleeding,

    blinking sideways

    and bored.
