For example, Indians always say the caste system no longer exists. By law it has been abolished, but that is the main criteria for arranged marriage.

Another example is how they lie about how they care about foreigners who visit. Give me a break. Every culture/country treats guests as royalty. Foreigners are overcharged and targeted for scams constantly. Sure, as long as they have money to spend they are welcome.

Besides religion and following tradition (whether voluntarily or forced), what has kept many Indian cultural traditions intact until today? Please think about it and don't include religion or just following traditions. Are there any other reasons?

Oh come on now India. Why do you want Wall of China Mart in India? Do you want to buy goods that are all made in China? What is going to happen when you give all your business to China? What do you think? Will you buy cheap goods made in China? And if you do follow America and lose many small local vendors and businesses, then don't blame us in the future.

To Christians who always question atheists, ex-Christians, and others, did you know the story of Jesus is not an original one?

Why does India charge all foreign-looking people more at sites in India? Even if they are students in India, married to an Indian, working in India, etc.? Even people of Indian origin who were born abroad get charged the Indian rate. This is racism. It makes Indians look like beggars. Is it just ignorance or what? I don't know of any other country that does this btw.

Can you develop when India cannot even provide continuous electricity and water? This is a serious question.

Why is the Hindu Goddess Durga celebrated in particular? Who chooses which gods/goddesses have their own special holiday? If you celebrated each Hindu god/goddess, you would have a holiday practically every day. Why Durga?

Arranged marriage is like a business deal between two families to do the "family" thing and make babies. The potential bride/groom is chosen by certain physical attributes, education and caste. Theories?

Indians tell me there are more Bollywood films than Hollywood films released each year. Where is the proof? I have seen movie lists online and Bollywood has much fewer (not even comparing quality).

Do you think it's because more women are reporting it? Or could it be because women are now gaining more freedom and some men feel threatened and want to "put women in their place" (i.e. below men).

I don't get it.

Why are Indians so obsessed with this? Are dark women not beautiful? From adverts to movies to the average person (although they keep it hidden), whiteness/fairness is god. I would like serious answers and not one-lines because you can't handle the question.

Obviously I am not Indian, but I am living in India. I just don't understand how educated Indians are happy living this way.
