  • Anyone know how to get Slime or Goo out of carpet once it's dried?

I just found out my son spilled his container of Slime (or Goo) on the carpet and it has long since dried. It's that stuff you can get with eyeballs or bugs or other boy things in it. It's a hard, flat, mass of shiny stuff that I can't loosen with my hands. Anyone know if this stuff is water based or will I need something else?

We're moving out of our rental next week, so I need to get it out. Help!!!

  • Hostess gift for family hosting swim lessons at their pool. Ideas?

My boys are taking swim lessons that are being held at the pool of a friend of a friend. I don't actually know these people except for meeting them in their pool. They did get their lessons for free because they had enough other people sign up, but I still feel like I should express my appreciation for letting us use their pool.

What types of things would make a nice thank you gift for a family with 4 daughters that isn't going to cost too much? I was thinking maybe something for their pool, but what? Or something else? Ideas please.

    Thank you.

  • Any Five-In-A-Row users?

I'm considering using FIAR with my 6 & 7 year old sons. They are finishing up kindergarten and 1st grade through a home based charter school which uses What Your _____ Needs to Know curriculum and individual language arts and math. I like the approach this series takes but I'm considering going independant next year and am checking out curriculums.

So parents that use FIAR, how do you like it overall?

How long have you been using it?

What are the ages/gender of your children?

What do like best about FIAR?

    What do like least?

    What would/do you change?

Any other info I could use please.

    Thank you.

  • Potty training help for a just-turned 4-year old!?

My son who just turned 4 is "not into" potty training. He'll something go pee, but usually he puts up a fuss and says he doesn't have to go. I have to physically take him. Once there, he'll pee. His brother's taught him to pee standing up and he was kinda into doing that, but the thrill is gone.

We were doing pretty well last summer when he just decided to stop using the potty seat. I gave him some time off and we started up again in the Spring. He went with Daddy and picked out a seat that fits on the toilet. It's been about 4-5 months of working on it this time.

When he gets up I have him take of his diaper, go potty and put on underwear. When we go out he wears Pull Ups. Either way it does't matter cause he'll just pee where ever he is. I remind him, he doensn't go, then he pees on the floor.

    We've done stickers, M&M's, stars, high-fives.

He's never gone poop in the toilet.

He has speech delay but is on-track every other way.

    Help! I'm worn out!
