  • In California, can an employer send an employee home for not agreeing to work on their lunch break?

My husband called to tell me that he is on his way home because he did not agree to work on his lunch break after he had clocked out. He's an hourly employee. Is that legal?

  • how do you cope with husband gone for a month?

My husband is a chef and will be going on a month long internship. I can't go with him because of school and work. I think that it's too early for such a separation. We just got married 6 months ago. I'm full of anxiet, fear, sadness, etc. When I think of him leaving. I've told him how I feel but I try not to talk abou t it with him too much because I don't want to upset him with how upset I him. I don't want him to feel bad. Part of me feels like, if he loved me as much as I love him...how can he leave? I know that's not a good thought so I don't mention it.

Any ladies/guys have tips on coping with being separated from your husband/wife?

  • what score do I need to get a Citi Forward card?

According to Experian, my credit score is 766 (give or take a few points I suppose). I am planning on applying for another credit card because my capital one card has declined to raise my low limit of $500 after I've had the card for three years, never late on a payment, never requested an increase, and only use 30% or less of my limit. I've also have never had any credit cards in bad standing before either.

I'm thinking of getting a Citi Forward Visa from Citibank (my bank). Does anyone know if my credit score is good enough to get this card? My bank account balance is always pretty high and I have never over drafted ever (fortunately).

I'm thinking of getting a Citi Forward credit card through Citi Bank (my bank). Any idea what kind of score I need to obtain this card? Is

  • FAFSA max amount?

I applied for my FAFSA today and the counselor said I was eligible for the max amount. I'm just curious what the max amount is. I know it depends on what school you are attending (Bakersfield College, CA). Any one have a guess?

  • "chicks and gang signs?"?

ESPECIALLY on myspace, why does almost every girl throw up some gang sign when taking a picture of themselves or with friends?

Is every girl in America in a gang? It's like trying to be "cool" by association through twisting your fingers up in some contorted way to show "pride" for a gang you're not even in. It's like those kids in school that try to act and dress like the "popular" kids. Or tell everyone that one of those kids are their friends so everyone else will think they're "cool". Cliques and clubs are a bit overrated.

    I just don't get it.

Oh oh! and what are those little plastic things on the end of shoe laces called?

Can someone please tell me what this hair cut is called? I want to go get it done tomorrow but my printer busted, so I need to know what this is called. Seeing as I can't print out the picture help!

I want it more like the second one, I want it longer, like the shortest layers tips touching like just above my shoulders. I don't want it exactly like this, but it is super layered and I don;t know what else to call it.

  • monistat 1 pack (one dose) does it work?

Has anyone used the monistat 1 combination pack (one treatment) and had it worked. I've never used it, only the 3 day treatment once. But I don't want to wait THAT long before being able to be active again.

How long does it normally take after using it?

  • Thermal hair product, which works best?

What is a really good thermal spray to use before you flat iron your hair? I bought matrix .sleek look from the salon at work, and I think it does what it says. "locks out outside moisture preventing frizz, and protects against damaging due to heat styling". The only think I don't like too much about it is after I do my hair with it, if I try to run my fingers through my hair it kind of gets caught and I have to tug it loose. It's not tangled, it just get's a little caught. And comes out with conditioner, which is good because I dye my hair, so I only shampoo it 2 times a week not to try it out.

Another one I used was a cheap one by citri shine, anti frizz and spray laminator. The only thing I don't like about that is, it's like a fruit oil, after my hair is done it is easy to run my fingers through, is shiny, and smooth. But the next day my hair will look oily even if I washed it before styling.

Is sleek look worth it? What is a god one, professional or not?

  • Algebra help!?

    9(-7) - 6(-7)^2 + 4(2)^2 is:

    -63 - 294 + 16.

If I start from largest to smallest to solve this I would do 294 + 16 =310. So then I'm left with -63 - 310. But if you have a negative number minus a positive number you subtract right? so (neg - pos = subtract) -63-310= -373. Which turned out to be wrong. The right way would of been -62 - 294 + 16 = -341.

If the following charts I have are true, what am I doing wrong?

    Adding intergers

    Negative + Negative = (add)

    Positive + Positive = (add)

Negative - Negative = Add (add as written)

    Positive - Positive = (Subtract)

    Negative + Positive = (add)

    Positive + Negative = (subtract)

    Negative - Positive = (Subtract)

    Positive - Negative = (add)

    Positive squared = positive

    Positive cubed = positive

    Integers & powers

    Negative squared = positive

    Negative cubed = negative

Positive multiplied by positive = positive

Negative multiplied by negative = positive

Negative multiplied by positive = negative

Positive multiplied by negative = negativ

  • Algebra question?

    Negative squared (2) = positive

    Negative cubed = (3) negative

Positive multiplied by positive = positive

Negative multiplied by negative = positive

Negative multiplied by positive = negative

Positive multiplied by negative = negative

    Rule you can make:

If the base is negative and the exponent is EVEN the result is positive.

If the base is negative and the exponent is ODD the result is negative.

is all of this true? The only thing I'm really unsure about is the thing with cubed and squared at the top.

  • Another algebra help question!!!!?

    8(3)² + 8(3)² - 8(-2) becomes:

    -72 + -72 - -16

to solve this I actually have to add all three numbers instead of subtracting the 16. How do I know when to add them all, or subtract them all, or how to change the + or - sign?

  • Algebra problem help! PLEASE!?

    3(-7)² - 8(-7)³ + 4(-2)²

    becomes:

    -147 - 2744 + 16 = 2907

but if you do the problem the original way it's written, it equals -2875.

    -147 - 2744 + 16 = -2875

So why do I have to do it this way to get the correct answer?

    147 + 2744 + 16 = 2907

What happened to 147 being negative? How can I tell when to add the absolute value? How do I know when to switch adding to subtracting or vice versa?

  • Nose ring infected, keloid? HELP!?

I had my bf pierce my nose with one of those disposable ear piercing guns. Now the piercing has this little red bump on it and the ring goes through it. Is it infected? I read on other questions that it might be a keloid formed from the piercing *I think it's from cheap jewelry*. Should I take it out? or is there a way I can get a better quality ring and keep it clean so the bump goes away?

Oh and now sometimes when i take it out, if I push from the other side of my nose on the inside it almost looks like this skin comes out and there's some blood, I took a little of it out and it didn't hurt, what is that? It's almost like skin or whatever is inside the bump or deeper maybe?
