hi. i am addicted to yahoo answers, and.. i am addicted to yahoo answers, and...well..ya. hi again!! i am also addicted to facebook and polyvore.

  • I'm having a 13th birthday party (cooking themed) :D :D :D?

Here's the thing: I love GREAT food... :D so you have to give me some fancy and delicious ideas for stuff to make with my friends.

I already figured out the appetizers, so if you can give me some links to a few entrees and a few desserts, that would be great.

I love very rich desserts, and I generally don't like cupcakes unless they are REALLY great. They're too... cakey.

The entrees should take an hour or less to make, but should have some degree of difficulty.

  • Can you share some of your favorite fennel recipes?

My mom does this thing called "Farm Fresh to You" and it comes with some vegetables that we don't usually use... like fennel. I also want to know if you can use the leaves on top.

The box also comes with some sweet pea leaves... Any recipes for those?

  • Okay, I need some help!?

So for my school dance (it's formal) I'm wearing a black dress covered in big roses, and I want to know what I should do to my hair and face.

I don't want the makeup to be too much, but I can do anything to my hair. (pretty much)

I have brown, wavy hair and hazel-brown eyes. My skin is pale-goldish.

  • Punishment for a betraying friend...?

I had a friend (boy) who was dating my best friend (girl) and he dumped her. Not just that, but he also told my crush that I like him when he promised he wouldn't tell. Sounds lame huh? Not really when you're the one in the situation, lol.

Okay, now the fun part. I want to think of a nice, evil punishment for him. I need to prove to him that he can't get everything he wants.

  • What do you think of my report? Anything I should change?

"Oil dependence; It happened slowly. It sneaked up on us... well, not quite. It's like when somebody uses a GPS system so much that they can't get around town with their own sense of direction anymore. We've become slowly addicted to it, and now we can't stop using it. Bush says it a lot; It seems to be one of his favorite phrases. “America is addicted to oil.” But it's seemingly impossible to get rid of our addiction. You can't just blame it on Bush, or some other random politician. Everybody has to be willing to take the blame. And yes, that includes me. But I mean, I can't just shut the computer down right now! I'm in the middle of writing a report! And that's the hard part. We can't just let go of it all at once, no matter how nice it would be if we could.

Oil dependence has a huge impact on the environment. The seismic waves used to find new possible oil reserves disorient whales and makes them wash up on the beach. We can't afford this when whales are becoming more and more endangered. On land, a chemical called PAH that is found near oil wells causes cancer in some animals. Most importantly, there is something that will affect all of us. We are running out of oil reserves and eventually we will be forced into using alternative energy. So why not start now?

I asked some people on Yahoo!® Answers what they think about oil dependence to get a perspective on what average people think, not just another view from politicians and scientists. Everybody who answered the question agreed that oil dependence is a huge problem, but they had different ideas on how to solve it and different levels of optimism. One person mentioned that oil is very widely used to make anything from computers to plastic bags, and that we would have trouble without it. He also brought up the issue of EROEI (Energy Returned on Energy Invested). He said that nothing comes close to the EROEI of oil, and that nothing could replace it. He thinks the only solution is either to find more oil or to change our lifestyles. Two people said that alternative energy was a great idea, and that it's worth it in the long run to invest in it. But one was against ethanol; she said that with so many starving people in the world, it's unreasonable to deplete our food supplies by turning them into fuel.

When people think of alternative energy, they usually think of wind, solar, wave, or ethanol. Most people don't think of a machine that turns trash into oil. The process of turning trash into oil is called TDP, Thermal Depolymerization Process. It can turn almost anything into oil, from plastic to paper to sewage. The only thing that it can't process is nuclear waste. If a 175 pound man went into the machine (not like they actually put one in!), he would come out the other end as 38 pounds of oil, 7 pounds of gas, 7 pounds of minerals, and 123 pounds of water. The process mimics the natural process of making oil that happens in millions of years and squashes it into a few hours. And it has great EROEI too. It uses the oil that it creates itself and reuses water over and over. I think these machines will become more popular in the future."

  • Any suggestions/comments for this?

" She sat down for the first time in what felt like forever. She was still shaking, and her heart was beating very fast, but she couldn't feel it because her hand was shaking too much. She stood up again, but found herself too tired to do anything. She looked at the bench with doubt. No, I don't want to sit, she thought. Then she felt her muscles start to give out. She sat on the ground, trying to let the soft yellow grass calm her. But nothing would calm her now. Something was wrong. She knew it, but she couldn't tell what. She tried to scream, but she couldn't. She closed her eyes.

“Please, tell me what's wrong.” she said softly. Her voice quivered.

Almost on cue, the air became still. So still and quiet that the silence seemed loud to her. A tear rolled down her eye. The hot afternoon sun dried up the tear.

“Why, out of all of these days, do I have to be home alone?” she whispered to herself.

The air was still completely quiet. The sun seemed to take up all the space in the world. Despite her quivering, tired muscles, she stood up. She had to run it off. This monotony was driving her insane, making her think crazy thoughts. Or that's what she hoped was the cause.

Her bare feet pounded on the dry summer ground. She needed this badly. The sweat ran down from her hairline to her chin. Her throat ached, but she kept running. She ran around the soccer field again and again. She was killing herself, but that's what she needed. But then the world seemed to stop. She stopped dead in her tracks, seemingly midair. There it was, in front of her."

I also need to find out WHAT was in front of her :D see, I'm missing the big points here.

  • "Oy Vey" language confusion?

My friend says "Oy vey" a lot, and she says it means "oh god" or something in a different language. She says it's in Latin, then she says it's in Yiddish, which I totally doubt. It's kinda a bet, except the loser has to color an entire side of a tissue gold, and then on the other side write a paragraph in Spanish, the ultimate torture. Does anyone know what language "Oy vey" is in???

All I have is blue jeans, and I am very small (I am in 6th grade). I can wear an XS or an S in A&F, but I am sick of that. I can wear an XS or order XXS in AE and Aerie, and I am enjoying that right now, but I need a change!!! I also wear in XS in PacSun and an XS in wet seal. Any ideas? Can anyone make me a polyvore outfit that has stuff that I can actually wear? Best answerer gets 10 points.
