  • Is it common for a general practitioner to prescribe Cymbalta?

I thought that this was a prescription that was usually prescribed by psychiatrists, but I know of a GP who regularly prescribes it. Is this common practice? I'm just curious.

  • what is a reasonable estimate to hook up a 220 out let for an electric free standing range?

We have enough service and space in the breaker box. The electrician said it would take about an hour to do the work and gave a price of $800.

  • Fabric stores in southeastern Massachusetts?

I live in southeastern Massachusetts, near New Bedford. I can't seem to find any decent, independently owned fabric stores in the area. I have to get everything at Jo-ann's and Wal-Mart, and I'm looking for unusual stuff that they don't carry. I'm about 30 minutes from 2 different art colleges, so I think there must be a good fabric store in the area that I don't know about. Any suggestions? I'll drive as far west as Providence, as far east as Cape Cod.

  • Why aren't Joann Fabrics fat quarters available in larger bolts?

I keep finding these quarters in prints that I love at Joann's only to find that they aren't available in longer lengths. I asked a couple workers and they had no idea why they weren't available in bolt lengths. Does anybody know why they don't carry the longer sides and where I might find their distributor?

    Thanks in advance.

  • A question about firemen?

Do they still use the pole to respond to calls? Is it that much faster than stairs? What are the origins of using a pole? I'm serious, so no innuendos, please.

  • Is it legal for a propane company to charge me an "inactivity fee" ?

My propane company called today and said that I had to pay over a hundred dollars in "inactivity fees". I haven't needed propane in almost 2 years, and now they're saying since I use their tank I have to pay them for inactivity. I asked them if this is a rental fee, and they said no - it's an "inactivity fee". Huh? Can anyone tell me if this is regular practice?

  • Is this bathroom remodel estimate high?

My husband and I are looking to gut and replace our bathroom. It is currently very dated and requires a little plumbing updating. Part of the gutting will be removing an existing linen closet and a built-in vanity and a built-in hamper. The room is 6 by 9 feet with a standard-sized shower/tub insert. We plan on getting standard-grade replacement tub, shower insert, toilet, and vanity. Aside from some plumbing updating, there is no structural issues or any "catches".

We live near Boston, Ma. Our estimates for this project so far have been $12,500 and $16,700. Do these estimates sound high? We would like to do this ourselves (as we usually do everything ourselves) but we are expecting a baby very soon and we don't have the time or ability to do it ourselves right now.

Thanks in advance for any input.

  • Need information on Antique Wall Clock?

I recently received a wall clock from my grandmother - there is little known about it, but I found a piece of paper inside under the weight that my grandfather had written on. According to this note, the clock is likely early 19th century and it is called a "Chandler" clock. If anyone has any info on this type of clock, and/or knows of a good website to get information on antiques or a book or pricing guide, I'd really appreciate the help.

  • Loading MS Word without cd drive?

I just received a refurbished laptop from my parents that doesn't have a cd drive - just a floppy drive. I'm not sure if they had an external before, but anyways, I want to load MS Office on this laptop (I have a legitimate copy of Office). Is there anyway of doing this without getting an external cd drive? Will an external drive even work? How much do they cost (about?) Thanks in advance.
