  • Error sending texts on iPhone?

I can easily send texts to most people. However, two numbers in particular always return a "Error Invalid number. Please re-send using a valit 10 digit mobile number or short code."

Now, these are two of my friends' numbers. They also have iPhones and cannot send me a text either (they get the same message). We can call each other just fine though.

We've tried to text each other's numbers using 7 digit, 9 digit (area code) and 10 digit (1+area code) to no avail. Always the error.

    How do I fix this?

  • How do I copyright a comic strip?

I am creating a comic strip. Do I copyright it under "Visual Arts" or "Literary" (since it's both writing AND drawing)?

    FURTHERMORE,

    Is the concept protected?

For example, if my comic were about a turtle traveling through space and fighting aliens, if I copyrighted the strips I've drawn so far, is the concept (in addition to the characters) protected? Or could somebody else who liked that idea make a very similar strip with a tortoise/frog instead of a turtle, etc. ?

  • Can I use my iPhone's internet connection on my PC?

I don't have internet on my PC (just moved to a new place) but I have internet on my iPhone. Can I somehow access that network through my PC? I realize it would be a painfully slow connection speed, but I can deal with it.

  • One wireless internet connection kills the other ones. How do I fix this?

I have 4 computers that connect wirelessly to a router. When one particular computer accesses the router, the signal only works for about 5 minutes, then all 4 connections shut off for a while. What could be causing this?

  • Blinking "D4" light on my Honda?

This has happened a couple times...

The car has trouble starting, might take 2 or 3 tries. Then, when it starts, the Drive (D4) light which usually stays green on the dashboard blinks on and off instead, and acceleration is noticeably slower.

But then, when I turn the car off and start it up again, it starts up just fine. And this won't happen for another few weeks.

    What's happening?

  • How do you tip at restaurants?

Hopefully this does not sound like a rant. I'm actually curious...

I've served tables in St. Louis and LA and both places had people who seemed to think that a 10% tip is okay (because they'll look you in the eye and smile and say thanks as they leave) or that $5 is the universal good tip for any bill under $100, or that $10 is good for any bill over $100.

So to the people who tip this way when service is good, were you raised and taught to tip this way, or was it a decision you came to on your own?

Keep in mind that I'm wondering about people who tip this way for good service. An answer that says "For bad service, I tip that way" doesn't help me. I'm talking about for good service.

  • Copyright a Font?

I'm not sure how font copyrights work...

If I hand-draw lettering based on a font I found online (to title an illustrated story for publication), Is this against copyright laws? I mean, I'm not actually typing with the actual font, just referencing it as I hand-draw the lettering.

Is doing this any different from, say, drawing a TV cartoon character for spoofing purposes?

  • What does WEP security do?

So I made a passcode, and in each of the "Key 1" through "Key 4" sections, it generated a 10 digit code.

I went to my wireless computer, and typed in the passcode, and it filled in one of the 10 digit Key codes on its own.

What is that Key for if it's automatically filled in when somebody types in the passcode?

Also, when connecting to the router, after setting up WEP, it still said "security: disabled" on the Profile screen. How do I enable it, or do I need to?

  • I'm trying to set up my router?

...for 3 computers to access it. Do I need the MAC addresses for them? If so, how do I know what they are?

  • Trying to see who's accessing my router?

I went to my router's address and typed in the default username and password as posted on the back of the router itself, but it doesn't work. Could it have been changed?

    OR

I'm logged in as another user on the computer, not the main user. is that why I can't access it?

  • I have a spring retainer to move two teeth. How long will it take?

I realize I have to wear it for a LONG time after my teeth have moved into position, but how long should it take for them to initially move into place?

I'd just like to know how long I should wait before I see visual results. I've had the retainer for about 6 days so far.

  • Why do people waste time backing into spots when it's easier to back out of them?

People spend 5 minutes backing into spots so they can pull out head-first later. However, it takes less time to do just go into the spot head-in and back out later. What's the deal?
