  • Ceramic Tile Selection?

I am looking to have ceramic tile professionally installed in my back patio. The patio is 900 square feet and enclosed. I have screens instead of windows. I live in South Louisiana where freezing isn't much of an issue but high humidity and temperature is a constant in the summer months. I also have three cats that live in the patio. One of them has a bladder control issue that's a problem and I also have a 7 year old son who rides bikes, big wheels, etc at high speed. As far as traffic goes it's not really a high use area. I mainly use it for family get togethers for the holidays and for my wife and I to smoke outdoors. I plan to use 16 by 16 inch tiles. My question is should I choose the Impervious type tile due to my cats issues with it's bladder and the PEI Class. I've done a lot of reading on the net about this but am somewhat confused as to all of it. With a higher PEI value does the porosity value also improve? Also any grout sealing ideas for pet accidents would be appreciated.

  • Microsoft Excel Sorting Issue?

I'm trying to make a really simple DVD movie list to help me keep track of them all. They are numbered in a case. I have about 400 and was trying to have column A with the number in case and column B with the movie title. To save myself the time consuming typing the number of the movie I did a simple formula =A1+1 and filled the rest of the column down to the number of movies I own. When I do this and try to sort ascending or descending it doesn't work with the number column. The title column works fine though. As long as I manually type in a number one at a time it works fine. The end result that I'm looking for is if I sort either column A (the movie number) or column B (the movie title) I need the number assigned to the title to sort with it no matter which I choose to sort. Any help or other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • Help Before Creating a Discus Tank and Their Proper Care Information?

I'm currently cycling a 50 gallon tank with feeder goldfish and still have a few weeks left to go. The feeders will go to my 75 gallon Oscar tank when done. I'd like to stock the new tank with Discus. They are a pretty pricey investment and from what I've read they require lots of care regarding water quality. Can anyone who owns Discus separate the facts from the B.S. regarding their proper care? I'd really appreciate knowing facts beforehand and if it's too much of a commitment be forewarned. They are a really beautiful species but I'd rather be informed and not get them than be unimformed and not be able to give them the proper care they need. I've been dealing with 4 different freshwater tanks for about 6 years now and know the importance of water quality, proper chemical levels, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Help Identifying and Removing Small Hairlike Worms in Aquarium?

I have two 75 gallon tanks, one with oscars and a black ghost knife and another with angels and assorted tetras. The past few weeks I've noticed hundreds of these worms in both tanks. They are in the gravel and on the underside of the hood. Both tanks have been well established for over 3 years and no new stock has been added for over 1 year. I've tried to remove excess food by siphoning the gravel once a day for a week and cleaning the entire filter system. Nothing seems to get rid of them. All the water parameters are good. They don't seem to cause any harm to the fish but are an eyesore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd resort to chemical warfare as a last ditch effort but am not too sure what the worms are and don't want to harm my fish. See the links below for pictures.

  • Prepping Concrete on a Large Patio?

I have an 800 Square foot enclosed patio. It has probably 20 heavily laid coats of paint on it. After moving in my neighbor told me the previous owner had never properly prepped the concrete before he painted it. When it peeled up he just put more paint on top of it. It's to the point now of having to be stripped down to nothing and done the right way. Any removal with water blasting is out of the question due to it being enclosed and also the Sheetrock walls. With 800 square feet, any liquid stripper would probably require a 55 gallon drum of it plus the mess and labor involved. I've been researching something called a shot blaster.

Though pricey to rent, about $350 a day where I live, it would seem to me to be the way to go. Does anyone have any experience using one of these and if so what are the pros and cons of it?

  • Mulch Made From Recycled Tires?

Has anyone used this stuff ?

    http://www.americanrubber.com/mulch/

I saw this at Home Depot and actually considered using it. I was going to used red lava rock but have a 6 year old son who would have more fun throwing the rocks in the yard. The pros of hitting a soft piece of tire versus a hard lava rock with the lawn mower and having to pay for damage to my neighbors cars and windows would outweigh the additional cost of the mulch.

Does anyone have any pros and cons besides what the web page says?

  • Guides to Photography?

I recently purchased the Sony A100 with the SAL18200 Lens. I have no complaints about the camera whatsoever. It's a little more of a camera than I'm used to. I previously owned a DSCF717. I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on photography guidebooks that can offer, in layman's terms, information so that I can fully utilize all the features the A100 offers.
