  • What to do if a guy calls to arrange a date and never calls back?

A man who you have known for a while and is a family friend finally calls to ask you out. He says he is going to call you the next day to arrange a date for that day or the next. Two days later he doesn't call. What do you do? Should you call him or assume he is just not interested?

Background information. He has been widowed for almost two years and you have been divorced for over 20 years. Both are in their 60s.

  • What to do after first date?

OK, this is long but I want to get the most accurate advice possible :)

I met a guy at a bar last Thursday and after talking for a bit he asked me for my number. We text for a while that same night and then I didn't hear from him for 4 days. He text me again and asked if I wanted to go out and made very specific plans.

The date was sort of weird. I had a great time but I'm unsure of the guy. For one he was a bit late and he made me even more anxious than I already was. When he finally arrived, we got a table and ordered some drinks. He said he wasn't that hungry and that we should order a few tapas, we order 2 to share, which he kind of decided on. We talked about our childhood, our past, stupid stories and what not. The whole time he barely touched the food which drove me crazy and of course I didn't east much as well. He paid for the dinner and I offered to pay my part but he said it was fine and that I could get him something from the next place we were going to. We get there and we order drinks. When we go to the next room he gets all anxious and tells me that this girl he was dating was here. I was like "Cool, who cares, go say hi if you want to or we can just go to the other room" He said it was fine and introduced us. We moved on and played some games (it was like a Dave and Busters type of bar) and then out of nowhere he tries to kiss me. I was caught out of guard and just made some weird moves to get him off. He got the hint immediately and jokingly said that I had lost points. I apologized and told him he caught me by surprise. We kind of laughed it off and continued our evening. Then he told me it was a week night and that he didn't want to keep me up that long, and that he would walk me to my car, I didn't drive but I was taking a taxi and there was one right outside the bar, so we hugged very awkwardly and I got in the cab. Two seconds later he text saying "Text me when you make it home safe" and then when I replied he said "I had fun. Nite"

Now, I am under the impression that either encountering this other girl was pure coincidence or he is going out on dates daily in the neighborhood.

Another thing, I am not sure what he meant by "loosing points" when I refused to kiss him. I think I would have kissed him at the end of the night, not inside this crazy place.

Is it appropriate to text him? Or should I wait for him to get back at me. We didn't make any plans for a second date.

  • Job position found of Craigslist?

I have had relatively good experience with cragslist.org finding jobs. However, this time around I don't feel quite certain is legit.

The add I responded to read:

Freelance Personal Assistant needed to work in the evenings.

College or graduate student who is energetic and has excellent

interpersonal and communication skills. Respond with cover

    letter, available schedule and resume.

    Location: Manhattan

I sent an email with my resume attached.

I received an email the next day from a email with no name (for example, the sller's name only shows the email account). He (or she) wrote that he would like to meet up for an interview and that once I email him confrming the time he would text me the address. After that I received a text that read:

"hi M***. This is E* ab PA. This is to confirm tom inerview @10AM. I will wait by 96 street stop #6 subway in the upper east side."

    No address, no name, nothing.

What do you think? Is this a scam? Do I have anything to loose if I meet up with him?

  • Missing Spouse Divorce in Virginia.?

Hey there. I got married in November of 2004 and got separated in March of 2005. We were young and stupid and regret the whole thing. Since then, my husband and I lost communication and w have been living totally different lives. About a year ago, he called me to let me know he wanted a divorce and that we should meet up to get things straighten out. I tried calling him back but he had changed his number and was gone again.

Now I have sent emails, divorce papers to his last known address and even left a message in his suppossed job and never heard from him again.

I am trying to file a divorce and serve him by publication and this is where my question arises:

I want to do a pro se divorce (do it yourself). have to file a Service by Publication Affidavit for which I found the forms in the Fairfax County website. I know I have to publish a legal notice in the Washington Post for 3 weeks, but who is drafting this legal notice? Am I writting it or does the court have a fill in the blanks form? What happens after the 3 week period? Do I file for a no contest divorce? Will the court set a hearing?

Any one who has any usful info will get 10 points...

    thanks

  • All white or Caribbean Party?

I am celebrating my 24th birthday this month. My friend is letting me use her huge backyard, 4 car garage, deck and driveway to throw an outside night party. Her family has everything you can imagine to host ( chairs, tables, tents, benches, etc. All I need is to come up with a theme. Since is summer I tthought an all white party would be a fun idea ( white cocktails, white finger food, an all white tablecloth, utelnsils, cups, flowers, etc...and ofcourse white attaire for 25 guests. On the other hand, it seems like a caribbean theme party can be a little more laid back and not as hard to preoare. Any ideas or suggestions? I have a $300 budget.

  • Is it too late to call?

I met this guy online and we have been emailing back and forth. He emailed me his number last night and I have been debating all day when to call...but now Saturday at 9:25 pm I am getting anxious and want to call.. Is Saturday you know? I don't want to seem annoying. Should I just wait until tomorrow? Or should I text "busy?"

    Thanks you

  • How do I get to Powell St. from San Francisco International Airport?

Hello! I would be arriving at San Francisco International Airport at around 9 pm on a Friday. I want to go to Post St. in downtown San Francisco. The closest BART station seems to be Powell st. my question is: how do I get to the BART SFO International Airport stop from the terminal? Google maps says I can walk 11 minutes to the station but it doesn't seem safe (no path, more like highways???) I am looking for the cheapest alternative.

Another question: Are cabs cheap in the city? As cheap as in NYC?

Thank you so much for your help!

  • Opinion on exercise plan ?

    Hello!

    I'm 23 180 lbs. 5'8 and my goal is 155-160 lbs.

I have been loosing weight very slowly for the past few years. Last July I was only 10 pounds away from my goal when i discovered I had asthma. I started gaining weight due to cortisones, depression and the fact that I had to quit smoking after 10 years. I gained a total of 17 lbs. in less than two months and only lost 7.

Since then I live a healthier life, I moved to NYC and walk everywhere, I kicked the habit for good, cut back on drinking and eat a calorie controlled diet. However I don't loose any weight. I examined my life and realized that I was doing a few things wrong....not eating enough fiber, veggies or fruit, eating sugary treats (staying in my calorie range) but I can fix all that easily.

I decided to start taking advantage of my school's gym, pool and group classes. The problem is that I can only go from M-Th and probably two Saturdays a month; which means that I might have to excersice on consecutive days. My idea is to to a cardio class once or twice a week (kick boxing, fitness express, dancing etc), to swim one day and do bicycle, elliptical or something of that nature once a week. In addition to that squads, free weights, abs.

Is it safe to exercise consecutive days if I switch it around?

Do you think it will be an effective way to get in shape? I really just want to be healthy and don't care how long it takes for me to hit my weight goal (now 20 lbs away) as long as I'm in the right track!

Another thing is that my schedule changes in March so I could only go to the gym once or twice a week if I'm lucky but the weather will be nice enough for me to walk or ride the bike outside. I might try the couch to 5k program when the time comes. the thing is for me to get phisical activity. Do you think I could gain weight if I change my routine?

Sorry, I know is wordy, confusing and too long, but I really want to get a few opinions, tips, ideas...anything will be greatly appreciated.

  • Why am I not loosing weight?

Hello! I was attending weight watchers for 4 months and lost around 28 lbs. I started gaining weight slowly because I quit smoking and had to take steroids for my asthma. At first I thought I was just retaining water, but in 3 weeks i gained around 10-15 lbs. and after the treatment I just couldn't loose any weight. I moved to NY city in August and started walking at least an hour and a half a day (something I've never done since I drove everywhere before) I have to admit that I ate around 800 calories more than I was supposed to everyday!

All the cloth that I bought when I lost weight still fit me and I feel a big difference in the way my legs look (I guess because of the walking and going up and down stairs) but I have only lost 7 lbs. from my what I gained.

I currently eat according to my WW plan (basically counting calories) and I feel that I am not loosing weight like I used to.

Why do you think I'm not loosing?

  • I'm planning a party and need to know how much alcohol I should get?

Well, I'm going on the party bus so I have an idea of the mix drinks I want to make since I already have to take them in containers into the bus to avoid the hassle of mixing in the bus. Now I invited 30 friends, lets say 85% drink. The party is lasting for 6 hours. How many liquor bottles should I buy? Any idea of what kind of drinks I should buy? And any ideas of what kind of container should I buy to transport the liquor?
