  • Please help, need advice about Trick or Treating tonight?

Ok here is the dilemma in my house. We have 6 kids, and 3 of the boys( ages 10,9, and 7) are grounded for not listening on the bus, (which resulted in 2 days detention), for not doing their chores when they are told, and just all around not listening. Their rules for being grounded are they have to stay in their rooms, lay down and read a book, or draw, etc QUIETLY, and they cant get out unless they have to use the bathroom or eat. Well, they havent been doing that. They are playing loudly, bangin around, running back and forth to each others rooms, etc. So we told them about 4 days ago, that if they still dont do what they are supposed to, they cant go trick or treating. Well of course, they still didnt listen to that, so now their father told them this morning that they arent going Trick or Treating, that they are staying home while the other 3 go. Well I just feel so bad that they cant go, and its tearing me up inside. He says he feels bad too, he just wants them to learn.Being grounded, cant watch t.v., play the xbox, etc just isnt working. We took away alot of their privileges, so he said the next step should be taking away things they want to do the most, and the boys love trick or treating. I say let them go, just dont give them the candy till they are off punishment. Their dad says no they arent going at all.

  • Meal ideas for picky kids?

I have a step son who is 8 yrs old, and he is really picky and its driving me crazy!! He wont eat anything with potatoes, but will eat fries from mcdonalds thats it, likes bread, but wont eat biscuits, wont touch any veggies, and only fruit he will eat occasionally is a banana. No fish of any kind either. For example, if i make, say, for dinner beef pot roast with mashed potatoes, and veggies and warm biscuits, he will only eat the meat, but with regular sliced white bread, not the biscuits. It drives me crazy. Like last night i made chili, with white rice. He likes rice, beef, beans etc, but when i made it last night, all of a sudden he acted like he didnt like it, just kept trying to eat the meat out of it, and said he didnt want the rice. So his dad made him sit there and eat it till he was finished. So about after a hour, his dad tells him he got 10 seconds to finish it, or he is punished, so he gobbles it up, Im like wtf? Now mind you he has eaten my chili before with no problem. Now he is acting like he doesnt like certain foods, when he used to eat them before, and now my 6 yr old is starting to do the same. Any meal ideas, anyone? Thanks

  • Wiccan cards, are they accurate?

Okay, here is my question, and i need a serious answer from people that are mature, and know about this kind of stuff. No stupid or ignorant questions, please!! Okay, my husband has a good friend who is into that type of stuff, and he calls himself a witch, or wizard or whatever. He says wicca isnt about doing bad things, its about good things, nature and stuff. He often meditates, and sometimes, he will come over, and meditate with my husband, cause he says my husband has a unique energy, A few times, he has meditated with my husband, and his friend has a headache, and then my husband will feel the headache also, and his friends headache will be gone. So his friend tells him he has the power to heal and so on. So anyway, recently, his friend tells him he is coming over cause he has something very important to talk to him about. So he tells my husband that, from time to time, he "reads" these cards, not exactly sure what type of cards, and he will ask the cards questions about his friends futures, and such. So his friend asks these "cards", what will his future be like. Well he tells my husband from the reading he got, that he will fall into a very deep depression. So naturally, my asks Why? He tells my husband because your wife will pass away(me), and you will be left to raise the kids by yourself. Im only 34! So my question is just how accurate are these cards that "wiccans use? This upset my husband so much, he started crying, telling me to quite smoking, and exercise more, etc. And now, to be honest, even though i have doubts, Im shaken by this, and when I do think about it, I get upset and cry. I couldnt sleep lastnight thinkin about this. Can anyone help me to understand why his friend would say this, and are those "cards" accurate??? thank you, sorry so long!!
