  • Muslims, does the Koran include Jesus' miracle of healing the paralytic?

I'm not familiar with the Koran but I have a Muslim friend-of-a-friend, and I want to dialogue with her with some knowledge of where she's coming from. We were discussing the topic of whether Jesus could read other people's thoughts. I know the Bible talks about Jesus knowing the thoughts of the Pharisees in the parable of the healing of the paralytic, and I was wondering if the Koran also talks of this (and if it does, could you look up where to find this?).

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. I don't need to convert her through such a trivial matter--just get a better idea of the similarities and differences between our views on Jesus.

  • Can you help me find sources about the authenticity of the Bible?

I already believe in the God of the Bible but I would like some proof to back up my beliefs, for the sake of my friends who don't believe but say they wish they could. As you're answering this question, please help me report answers that insult Bible-believing members of the community (I don't want answers that say the Bible is a bunch of fairy tales, and insulting members of the Yahoo! Answers community is against community guidelines).

  • Can't we all just get along? Who will join with me?

When someone states that my god--or absence thereof--is imaginary, that person insults my mental capacities and my maturity level. Insulting other members is against the community guidelines. Can we follow the rules and treat each other as intelligent beings who just happen to hold conflicting, perhaps mistaken views? The current American philosophy holds tolerance very dear--meaning we treat all people with respect, no matter what they believe and even if we think their beliefs might be wrong. Christians, the Bible also mandates respect, based on the premise that we're all created in God's image .

So what I'm asking is: who will join with me in holding each other accountable and reporting infractions of the community guidelines? It will take a lot of help to turn this community around, because there's a lot of hatred floating around. Most people don't even recognize their disrespect; they've grown up with it and see it as normal. I hope we can open their eyes and soften hearts.
