Animals and cooperation?
If you are given the statement:
Animals aren’t capable of human-like thought processes and therefore they cannot be cooperating.
what would you respond with?
1 AnswerBiology8 years agoSome Like it Hot and Genre...?
Hi!
So I have to write a paper for my Film class and the prompt is to compare and contrast Some Like It Hot any other film we watched this semester in regards to genre. As it is known Some Like it Hot is a comedy and that is essentially the entirety of its genre- Although there are gangster/crime ideals in it as well. The only film that I believe would allow for a good comparison would be Orson Welles Touch of Evil. Other choices would include: October, Stagecoach, Sunrise, Jaws, Le Weekend, To Have and Have Not, North by Northwest, and Psycho. Is Touch of Evil and Some like it hot a good comparison or no?
Thanks so much!
1 AnswerMovies8 years agoAre the Sternwood sisters femme fatales in The Big Sleep (Film)?

1 AnswerMovies8 years agoStatistics Homework help?
Hi! I have one question on my homework that I am pretty sure I got right but I'm wondering if I did and if not, what am I doing wrong?
20 rats in a cage, 12 male, 9 are infected with a virus. Of the 12 males, 7 are infected with the virus. One rat is randomly selected from the cage:
a. if the rat is found to be infected, what is the probability that it is a female?
b. if the rat is found to be a male, what is the probability that it is infected?
c. are the events "the selected rat is infected" and "the selected rat is male" independent? why or why not?
So for A I got a probability of 2/9 and for B I got probability of 7/9. Is this right?
I also am not sure about C, however, I think they are independent.
Thanks for all your help!!
1 AnswerHomework Help9 years agoPlease help me figure out the lewis structure for halothane?
Hi.... I'm very stuck overthinking this right now, but I was wondering if there was a way you could help me draw the structure for halothane which is: C2HBrClF3 and the numbers are obviously subscripts. My problem is if I have to put lone pairs on the F's Br and Cl. The structure I have is: C's bonded to eachother in a single bond, 3 Fs off the left C, a Br, Cl and H coming off the other C. Is this correct? Do I need lone pairs?
Thanks so much.
1 AnswerChemistry9 years agoHow would knowing the time period of a novel change the way one reads it?
Hi! I'm trying to write an essay and trying to understand this broader question. The essay is much more narrow but I need some assistance on understanding how peoples knowledge of the time perios of the novel changes the way they see the text. Thanks for all your help!!
How would knowing the time period of a book and society's values at the time change the way the reader values the novel?
2 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoLiterary Essay question explanation please?
Hi so I have to write and essay and its on two novels that I read. The problem is that I need some sort of explanation of the basic premise of the question. So the question is essentially this: evaluate how each of these novels reflects the wider socio-historical context in which they are written and how such a wider context could even change the assessment or value we give a literary work.
I hardly understand that question and I would appreciate any help!!! thanks so much!!!
1 AnswerBooks & Authors9 years agoUsing Hess's law in a Spontaneity Lab?
Hi!
So there is a question in my Chem lab about using hess's law to calculate a theoretical ΔH for the dissolution of each salt (NaNO3 and LiCl- but in separate calorimeter reactions) they give us the ΔHf of NaNO3 (s) which is -467.855 kJ/mol. With standard numbers the ΔH values for Na is -239.66 and NO3 is -206.57. For LiCl they do not give us the ΔHf and Li is -278.46 and Cl is -167.46. I know we have to use certain equations for these in order to put Hess's law into effect but how do we go about doing this? If someone could explain this would be awesome and I appreciate it so very much! Thank you for your help!

2 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoCalc homework help! please maximizing and minimizing?
Hi if you could help me out i will be eternally grateful really! I'm very stuck on these problems so if you could help be it would be great!!
uses lagrange multipliers to find the given extremum. assume the x and y are positive
1. maximize f(x,y)=xy constraint: x+y=10
2. maximize f(x,y)=2x+2xy+y constraint 2x+y=100
3. minimize f (x,y,z)=2x^2 + 3y^2+2z^2 constraint: x+y+z-24 =0
THANKS SO MUCH! if you could go through the steps nesscessary that would be awesome!
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoCalc help! table of integrals/ finding integrals. Please help!?
Hi, I have been doing this work, and I really keep getting stuck. If you could help and explain somehow i would be absolutely grateful forever! Seriously! thank you soo very much!
1. ∫ [1/(x(1+x))] dx
2. ∫ 1/(x√(x^2+9)) dx
3. ∫ x ln x dx
4. ∫6x/(1+e^3x^2)

Please help me! i really am having a hard time and if you could maybe show some of the steps that would be amazing! thanks so so so so much in advance!
Use integration by parts to find the indeffinite integral.
1.∫ xe^(3x) dx
Find the indeffinite integral (integration by parts not required for all)
2. ∫e^(4x) dx
3. ∫xe^(x^2) dx
4. ∫2(x)^2(e^x) dx
5. ∫(x-1)e^x dx
6. ∫x √(x-1)
