I am way too nice to people, I think mainly because I grew up with lots of school kids and even some family either making fun of me for various things or just being plain mean and rude. I kind of decided I never wanted to make others feel the way I felt for so many years. I work heavily with the public every day now, and I find myself in situations where I need to have a backbone but end up letting people take advantage of me. I can't find that balance of being polite but firm when I need to be. I also feel anger towards myself for doing this and towards the people I allow to walk all over me. So I end up having a lot of built-up anger inside and my own life is suffering for it. Any useful advice would be appreciated.

After years of working at a job that involves dealing with people (and always a certain portion of them will be rude and mean), I still take things personally sometimes when I have to deal with one of these rude folks. I am beginning to really hate these people. I work very hard and do a good job in an honorable profession, but a disrespectful person will make me hate my job in a second. I keep wondering why I went through all the years of school to end up having to take rude comments with a smile on my face, just because they are the client. I am quite good at pretending to not let their words get to me, but my real desire is to actually NOT let what they say bring me down. I guess my question is, how do I not care about what these mean people say? I do care, but I want to stop caring, so that I stop getting my feelings hurt. Does this make sense? It doesn't happen all that often but when it does it can really ruin my entire day.

It seems that you would need a motorcycle license in order to drive a >50 cc scooter anywhere at anytime (in USA, specifically in GA). However, if you are required to supply your scooter at the DMV to use it for your motorcycle license test, would your regular driver's license suffice so you could drive the scooter there, or do you have to get it there in a truck or trailer? Maybe a dumb question, if so, sorry.

I purchased this vehicle 2 months ago and have had no problems until the past week when twice the car has cranked very sluggishly and felt like it would not crank at all. Both times were in the morning, and both mornings the temp was in the 50s or 60s. No warning lights are on and otherwise the car seems to run well. I'm taking it to the dealership since it's still under warranty but just wondering if anyone has any ideas about what could be going on. Thank you.

I tried Kava tea (Traditional Medicinals brand) a while ago, and gave it several chances (7 or 8) before deciding I didn't like it, because I'd drink it before bed, then wake up the next morning with a very bad headache every single time. I wasn't taking any other medications, was in shape/exercising daily, had good dietary habits, didn't smoke and didn't drink alcohol. I tried it for insomnia and it helped a bit, but the 'hangover' effect was intense.

Has anyone else gotten headaches from Kava? Anyone out there really love the stuff?

Why do people keep asking?

Just wondering why so many people believe that veterinarians either charge too much or believe that they should perform their services for free? Why shouldn't the same be expected for pediatricians? What about grocery stores? Shouldn't a starving person be able to walk into a grocery store and get free food? A stray animal should receive free care? That mean pediatrician requires payment for treating that poor child? Just wondering what other's thoughts are on this.

The plumber had to replace a section of pipe between our water meter and house, but said all the pipe under the house looked bad and would soon need replacing.

I've already asked him for an estimate...he's supposed to get back to me.
