  • Do I need a new door?

I have an old aluminium front door and the outside handle has fallen off and looks like it can't be re attached. The new handles in the shop look like a different size to fit around the lock and the metal bar that turns the handle. What options do I have?

    Thanks

  • Do Virgin Atlantic Airways still have games in the seat back TV's?

Years ago Virgin had some basic fun games in the seat back TV to play along with the movies, maps and TV programmes. Last time we went three years ago they were not there. Have they gone for good or does it depend on which plane you are on? Or did they take them out as everyone has their own game machines these days?

    Thanks

  • Why am I being kicked out and asked to resign in again?

I belong to some passworded download sites. I can sign in ok and get into the main page but everytime I click on any part of the page it will send me back to the log in page again. Sometimes I can get further into the site..but not far enough to do anything useful. I have checked with my IP provider to see if it was a fluctuating IP address but they say it is static. It happens on both my computer and laptop connected to the same IP...and on two different downloading sites although another site I use is fine and I have no trouble at all. It can also happen on some forum sites. What is the likely cause?

    Thanks

  • Gatwick hotels and transfers?

Can you help my travels arrangements work smoothly? We are flying into Gatwick from Spain. My daughter will come into Gatwick by coach..probably at a different time. We intend to stay at the Travelodge over night and fly out from the South Terminal the next day on a Virgin flight. That day will be XMAS day. My problem is we will obviously not have transport and want to meet our daughter at the coach station on Xmas eve ...can we walk from any of the Travel lodges to the coach station..if so which Travel Lodge? Secondly , if there is no bus transfer to the South Terminal on Xmas day can we walk that or is it a Taxi job and will we get one on Xmas day? or will it be twice the price?

Would be great to be able to book this all without having to pay out a fortune in transporting ourselves around. Anyone work there that could give me the run down on what best to do? I have travelled before over the Xmas period and it can be a nightmare if you are not prepared for all eventualities..

  • What does it cost to run a Florida home?

I often debate on whether we should buy a home in Florida as we love the place. Can anyone tell me how much it costs to run a home in Florida..NOT to buy one...but the costs of the electricity to run your air conditioning and pools and your taxes to have your trash collected etc...What are the costs of water..is it metered ?How much is it to register to be able to rent out your home?. How long do your homes last with the materials that they are built with? Are there any websites with this information?

If you buy a car does it have to have a road worthy test every year ? and do you have to pay a road tax annually like we do here in Britain?

    Thanks

  • What is wrong with my Dell N5040?

I bought this laptop 7 weeks ago. Worked fine until last week when it seemed to have a problem with passwords..I would start to enter my yahoo id and password and it would throw me up to the top toolbar and where you can type the http address it would type the number 10 and then sometimes kick me out and shut down. It has been virus scanned and taken apart by a computer shop. I have it back and it has done it again today although I am typing this very quickly and it is fine. So the keyboard works...but when it went the first time the keyboard was not typing the right letters? Is this a virus? or a processing problem as the initial problem seemed to get worse over a couple of days to the point where I could not even enter my admin password on the start screen without it crashing a few times and then it would start OK only to crash 5 minutes later whilst typing on the internet. I have managed to do this question without any problem so basically why is it randomly having a problem with the passwords? and why do I suspect that this is a worsening problem as I suspect I will not be able to do this "crash free" by the end of the day...We have run Kaspersky Pure through it . It did find a trojan dropper but this has been cleared by the computer shop....Anyone had this same problem or got any advice on what it may be?

  • Has anyone had a shipping container from UK to Spain?

What does a small shipping container (20ft) cost approx door to door from Wales to Alicante in Spain? Has anyone transferred their stuff that way? What have you paid per cubic meter for a road transfer by van..?

I have about 6-10 cubic meters and want the most cost effective way to transport my stuff.

Please only answer if you have done this recently or know of a reasonably priced company that I can get a quote from. The one quote I got was a 1000 pounds for 6 cubic meters by road!! That seems a little pricey to me....??

  • Any fellow Karaoke-world.co.uk members out there? I need help!?

I need some advice. I am a member but I cannot get access to the site properly as every page change requires me to enter a password. I can´t get contact with the staff to sort it out although Geordiedj did get back and it took me 3 hours to get his message up. My problem may be due to me logging on and downloading from my second computer. (different IP maybe?)...didn´t think at the time..but that may be what the problem is. Can any other members contact the site owners for me and ask them to e mail me direct to try and solve the problem..My ID is Fluffy..they should have my e mail..

    Thanks fellow members

  • What armoured electrical cable do we need in Spain?

We have electricity at the end of our plot in Spain on the road but now need to get that supply from the box down our plot to the house. 40meters plus. We are told we will need armoured cable buried into the ground and quotes for this are rather high. Can any electrician out there tell us what would be the usual size and core for the cable that would be used..even if you can give us an idea of the size and type that is used in the UK would be great so that we can get an idea of the real cost ..do not worry ..we are not going to try this ourselves...just want an idea of the costs so they don´t rip us off too much..Thanks very much

  • What is wrong with my boiler please?

I have an Ariston old boiler. It is tempremental but will heat fine when working. It will fire up and heat the house but once it reaches the guage temperature that I have set it for it will then start making a noisy buzz.and eventually will cut out .If I then turn the temperature down the buzz stops and it will continue to work for a while...The process starts all over again then 10 mins later..noisy buzz etc ,turn temp down ...It gets to the stage half an hour later where I have turned the temp down to as low as it can be and then it wont fire at all and the cut out light appears..It then will fire again the next day I try it.. What could this be? Its got to be something silly? I would like to fix it if poss so I would appreciate no answers telling me to get a new one unless we are talking serious repair here. Thanks everyone as we are tearing our hair out on this and plumbers turn up and it is working again so they can't suss it out..aghhhhhhhh

  • How do I get a better sound from my remote mics?

I have Skytronic Remote Dual Mics plugged into a mixer line in ,which then runs through amped speakers. The problem is they have little depth to them unless we turn up the bass to maximum on the mixer which then would affect the background music as well. Will it make a difference if we plug the mics in with a XLR lead or is it just down to the quality of the mic...we have other fairly cheap mics that seem to be OK..Our other concern is the model we have which is 171.316 is for British frequecies and we are using it in Spain..will that have any effect? We were told that it shouldn´t matter....

Can any body help in very simple terms as we have little knowledge on these things. Thanks very much
