I've been to the opticians and at the grand old age of 40, I've been told I've got cataracts - the usual causes (in younger people) are diabetes (I'm not diabetic), medication (not on any), or trauma (think I would've noticed that!) - however, I do smoke about 15 roll-up cigarettes per day - could this be to blame...?

Well, I know which one gives me nightmares....that fixed grin, those mad eyes, the claw.....mind you, Freddy's quite scary too....ahem :-)

Am I alone in hoping that a) he's never released from prison and b) that he dies a slow, painful death...?

Its a company based in London...has anybody else had any dealing with the above....? (If you have, you'll know why I'm asking...ahem)

Has anybody on here had any trouble with someone calling from the above number or received a scribbled note thru their door....? It seems this bunch of conmen are trying to extort money from people all over the UK....

Is is legal (I'm pretty sure it's not) for a debt collection agency to use false pretences to gain a person's address and to harass their family and neighbours?

I'd heard that a remake of Nightmare was on the cards (without Robert Englund as Freddy?!), but I didnt realise that the talentless, idea-less morons behind Sean Bean's version of (gag!) The Hitcher were planning so many remakes....

Why? It's not as if the original movies (save for The Birds) are that old......you can get them all on DVD, so what the hell is the point....is Hollywood so starved of new ideas...?

In my local authority area (Thanet), it seems that the job of fining people for flouting the new law on dropping cigarette ends in the street is falling to the local Community Wardens - what I want to know is, do these people have any powers of detainment and/or arrest....?

If not, how exactly are they going to be able to enforce the ban....? By asking nicely..?

I was in my local town centre just now, enjoying a roll your own cigarette....when I'd finished said item, there was about 5 millimetres of butt left, which I put on the floor (God, what a HIDEOUS crime against humanity!) - whereupon, one of our local ex-army/failed, frustrated policemen (delete as appropriate) Community Wardens informed me that if he'd has his book on him, I would've gotten an £80 on the spot fine....

I live in an area where there seem to be more and more teenage mothers every day (seems like a growth industry, almost) - even though the level and standard of sex education is schools is way better than it was when I was at school (I'm 39, for the record), the number of girls falling pregnant is going through the roof...

.....this is a controversial idea, but one way to cut the number of pregnancies amongst teenagers would be, when any girl in the UK reaches puberty and is therefore capable of conceiving, they should be fitted with a sub-dermal contraceptive device, ensuring that even if they do sleep with someone, they won't (shouldn't!) conceive....
