1 AnswerBeer, Wine & Spirits6 years agoHebrew speakers - what is the difference between "ahuva" and "ha'ahoova"?
I'm writing "my beloved friend" in Hebrew and was given the translation "chavera ha'ahoova", but I see spellings using a "u" instead of "oo", so "ahuva". Which is correct? She is female as am I.
Also, is it אהובה חברה?
1 AnswerLanguages8 years agoWhat is the Hebrew word for "beloved friend"?
Is there a Hebrew word for "beloved friend" or something to mean "I am a beloved friend"? I was looking for something more than simply "friend" but not "best friends". If gender figures into the grammar, I am female as is my friend. Thank you!
3 AnswersLanguages9 years agoIs all commercial citrine heated amethyst?
Looking for genuine citrine on the market, and have been told things by several vendors, such as:
"Most if not all commercial citrine is heated amethyst."
"Amethyst turns to citrine in the ground, as you know, so it's the same thing."
Doesn't genuine citrine need a presence of Fe3?
Thanks!

Trying to figure out which of these would sound more correct in Latin - "dog code" or "code of dogs"?
1 AnswerLanguages9 years agoLatin translation from English?
What would be more grammatically correct in a Latin translation:
"In art there is truth" or "art is truth"? Just wondering if either one would make more sense in the language.
1 AnswerLanguages9 years agoHow to take creatine if not for bodybuilding?
I'm a female vegatarian who passed her bloodwork with flying colors *except* creatinine was low (just below the low end). So, I purchased a canister of creatine monohydrate powder and would like to begin taking it.
How and when should I take it? I run outdoors for exercise and crosstrain on off days. I do also do resistance training. Though I'd like to build more muscle I'm wondering how to take creatine to help with energy?
Do I take with food, before/after exercise? Throughout the day (loading)? Thanks!
3 AnswersDiet & Fitness9 years agoWhy is it suggested to rest between runs during training?
I'm a beginning runner, and I have started a training schedule as follows:
1st Week: 1/2 mi every other day, with rest on off days
2nd Week: 1 mi every other day, with rest on off days
...increasing by 1/2 mi every week.
Reading posts online I see that even veteran runners rest in between runs, however theirs are typically several miles in distance. However, I also hear of people who "run everyday".
Why it is suggested that we flat out rest or cross-train (yoga, bike) in between runs, instead of using everyday to train?
Thanks!
2 AnswersRunning9 years agoDo beets (cooked) cause diarrhea? ?
Last night I had a beet salad with a couple fresh roasted beets (also steamed and ate the greens). Within short of two hours, I had urgent (red-tinged) diarrhea. The beets couldn't possibly have moved through me so quickly? Was it the juice? Eek.
1 AnswerOther - Health9 years agoWhen a recipe calls for "onions" and does not specify, which do I use?
I am preparing a grocery list for Thursday's homemade turkey stock. The recipe in Bon Appetit calls simply for "onions" - which onions do I use? White? Yellow?
Most recipes I'm finding are not specifying the types of onions. Perhaps they do this for convenience but I would like to get it "right".
Thanks all!
15 AnswersCooking & Recipes10 years agoFormer Servers: How does restaurant soda get flat?
There are some restaurants my husband and I visit that consistently have flat soda. What causes this? And no one at the restaurant seems to know what the issue is and have "checked the syrup and it was just changed."

1 AnswerComedy1 decade agoHouston Couscous & Spinach recipes?
I LOVE the couscous and spinach recipes at Houston’s. Does anyone know what they add to the wilted spinach side dish besides grated parmesan? It’s some kind of shredded veggie but I can’t tell what it is.
Also – the couscous tastes somewhat vinegary but I can’t put my finger on it. Thanks!

7 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoJillian Michael's 30 Day Shred every day - but don't muscle groups need a rest?
I find it odd that we would do Level 1 for say, 5 days in a row, when you are not supposed to work the same muscle groups (per Jillian in her books) more than once every 2 days. Your body needs 2 days in between to rebuild. So...what gives?
I know there is a recommended time of doing the levels (level 1 for so many days, then level 2, etc.) but repeatedly doing it everyday does not seem right to me. Even in her circuit training routines in "Making The Cut" (another 30 day program) she has these spread out, and not more than once every 2 days.
Confused :o(
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoWhen did Papa John's pizza become "different" than it used to be?
There are some of us who remember when Papa John's pizzas were light and airy, with a more pan-like look. Does anyone know when Papa John's pizza started to look and taste ordinary? I swear it has looked different for years but no one I know seems to know why. Is it a franchise change?
2 AnswersFast Food1 decade agoMaritime history - what would an antique cruise boarding pass be called?
Were "boarding passes" called something different back in the 20's and 30's, when ships such as the RMS Queen Mary were sailing? if so, does anyone know?
Does anyone have a link to an example, a photo of one perhaps? I would really like to see one.
Thank you!!!
