Did the experience of losing that person make you stronger in your faith/belief system, or cause you to question it?

Just look at the moon; can you not sense Her presence?

Is it possible to love someone yet hate something that is a intrinsic part of who they are, because it is a "sin" in your eyes?

Is that really "love"?

Does that type of love have any meaning?

I read somewhere that the figures at the right hand end of the table in "The Last Supper" are supposed to be DaVinci himself and Socrates. DaVinci is facing away from Jesus and toward Socrates, signifying his rejection of the church and embracing of scientific thought. Has anyone else read this? What are your thoughts on the symbols in this painting?

What does that say about them? Do they think hateful words will make me want to convert so I can be just like them?

...have experienced severe loss or hardship without ever needing to turn to a god?

I just read an answer that claimed we are only atheist until times get tough, then we cry to god.

My mom died when I was just out of my teens, nearly 20 years ago. NOT ONCE did I waver in my atheism, neither asking for help nor blaming god for my troubles.

Any other atheists remain steadfast in the face of tragedy?

Is it more important in a service to commune with god (if you are a believer), or to commune with like-minded people?
