  • Starting a new job and already need to request day off work? Advise please....?

Just finished an interview for a health care "career" job. Interview went great however I failed to mention the fact I would need off September 1st. How do I go about asking for that specific day off. I know they are gonna call me for the job but I do not want to jeopardize my chances by requesting off a day already. I need this day off for a prior engagement that is off great importance to me.

Any advice on what I should do? I really do not think askin for one day off up front would kill my chances but you never know these days...29 people applied for this one job. What should I do? Please no bonehead responses.

  • NEED MATH HELP PLEASE!!?

    MAC1105 Project: Maximum Profit #4

Your group has decided to open a small business selling office supplies by mail order. One of the items you want to sell is a box of dry erase markers. Each box contains 20 markers and the customer will pay for the postage. An important thing to decide is the best price to charge for the markers. After doing some market research, you found that if the box of markers costs $30.00, plus postage, no one would buy it. However, if you charge nothing, but the customer still pays for the postage, you can sell 1200 boxes of markers per month. The best price will be somewhere between these extremes.

    Given:

    Demand Function: n(p)= -40p +1200

    Revenue Function: I(p)= -40p*2 +1200p

    Now answer the following questions:

    1. The first company you find is Natalie’s Nifty Markers. She will sell you a box of 20 markers for$20.99. If you buy two boxes, it will cost $20.98 per box and three will cost $20.97 per box. Natalie continues to deduct $.01 per box for each box you buy up to 1050 boxes. The cost formula for these markers is given by C(n) = n(21 - .01n) or C(n) = 21n - .01n2 , for n < 1050. Find P(p), which models your profit if you buy your markers from Natalie’s Markers. Remember to rewrite your cost function in terms of your selling price, p.

    2. a. What kind of function is P?

    b. Find the maximum profit.

    3. When you charge this price, how many boxes are sold?

You are opening a business selling boxes of markers through the mail. One company you are thinking about using as your supplier has the following information.

-They will sell you a box of 20 markers for 20.99$. If you buy two boxes, it will cost 20.98$ and three will cost 20.97 per box. The company continues to deduct .01$ per box for each box you buy up to 1050 boxes. The cost formula for these markers is given by C(n)=n(21 - .01n) or

    C(n)=21n - .01n*2, for n < or equal to 1050.

    1. Find P(p), which models your profit if you buy your markers from this company. Remember to rewrite you cost function in terms of your selling price, P.

    2. What kind of funtion is P?

    3. Find the maximum profit

    4. When you charge this price, how many boxes are sold?

    Opening a business:

You are going to sell markers by the box full. The first supplier will sell you a box of 20 markers for $16. per package, but there is an additional charge of $300 per month to purchase markers from this company. So I need to now....

    1. Find a formula for C(n), which is what it costs your group for markers, where n is the number of boxes of markers.

    2. Find P(p), which models your profit if you buy your markers this company. Remember to rewrite your cost function in terms of your selling price, p.

    3. What kind of function is P.

    4. Find the maximum profit

    5. When you charge this price, how many boxes are sold?

-I will truly appreciate any help on this project I'm just not fully understanding it. Thank you.

  • Maximizing profit project help!! Please?

    Maximizing profit:

I found the demand equation given by the linear function n(p)= -40p+1200

-n represent boxes sold and p is price.

    1. Next I need to use the demand equation to find a formula for my income I in terms of p only.

    2. Next, given the cost function C(n)=17(n) I need to find the profit function P=(p)-C(n).

    3. Then I need to rewrite the cost function above as a function of my selling price so that i will have

    P(p) = I(p)-C(p).

    4. Next I need to find a way to convert my C(n) to C(p). Once I have done that, find P(p)?

    - Can someone please make some sense of this for me or refer me to a website that would be helpful. I have racked my brain with this and the group I am working with is very sub-par to say the least. Thanks for any help.

  • If were all "god's creatures", why is it acceptable to kill an animal but not a human?

I never understood this double-standard. I've ask many people with different religious views this question and I can never get a answer that has much logic. First off, I do not believe we were all created by God, however I never go around senselessly killing anything. I believer everything on this planet has a reason for being and who am I to decide somethings fate. On the flip-side, all the religious advacates and god lovers claim that the ultimate sin is taking another human beings life, however, they can eat meat, kill bugs and insects, etc. If we were all put here by god, what gives us the right to kill anything. Wouldn't it be the same to kill a human than it would be a cockroach? Were all put here by god, remember!

  • Felony dismissal? What does this mean for the future?

I recently got busted, in Florida, for possession, a third degree felony. I was released from jail on no bail and admitted to a pretrial diversion program. After the program is over the charge will be dismissed.

I am a college student and going into the health care field. Everything I have read on the computer about this issue has said that dismissed cases still show up on a background screening just not as a conviction though. So, the big question is, when I fill out an application do I have to write down a felony case that was dismissed or is that something you do not need to bring out in the open...I'm sure they will see it eventually but I don't want to spill the beans if I don't have to.

All advise is welcome but please spare me the moral guidance, I'm a grown man and just made a mistake. Thanks

I am a 6'4'', 260 pound male with tattooed forearms and i'm in my first year of community college at the age of 28. I am very unsure of what i want to do with my life, but I know I am able to do anything. I am looking into health care but I know there is a lot of stigmas about men in that field, especially someone that fits my description. Respiratory therapy, RN, Paramedic, etc. Will someone give me some advise on a career that wont take forever to get into, but can make a honest living. Thank you
